I don't know if i'm doing anything wrong but i can't seem to get air when i want to only when my 4.9m Blade decides to. On a few occasions now i've been taken way up but without meaning to, today i was out flying for a good hour in fairly good winds and didn't leave the ground once, all i got today was major scuds but no lift, whats going on man, is it me? Is there a technique to jumping or a ideal spot in the window to get max lift? Ps, i've only had my Blade for 2 wks and flown 6-7 times so i'm still a bit of a novice! Please help, i'm cluckin for air, i come home dissapointed:(

Thats mad we can only be 200yds away from each other, will have to hook up for a sesh soon. Best thing to do is go to the Anerley Arms pub and ask the landlord where i am, i'll get the first round in! Vince:D

Tell ya wot, i've only had my 4.9 Blade ll for a week and i was one of those fools that thought if i was careful it would be ok! I went down to Norman Pk in Bromley with my S10's and the 4.9, when we first got there it was quite gusty but by the time i got missus and kids off to the playpark and walked to the middle of the field it seemed to have died down a bit. At first i was just gonna set up the S10's but one of my mates who was clucking to see the Blade said "come on, its not that bad" so they held the tips while i unwound the lines. For the first few mins it was fine, nice long controlled scuds and little hovers and brought it back down for a perfect landing, then when it was on the floor i felt the wind pick up a bit so i thought lets show em what this thing can do... With no respect i tugged on the lines straight up through the window and up i went and up and up, then down and thump then dragged on my a$$ for 20ft or so till i landed it. They said i was only 5-6ft off the ground but it felt twice as high and at 37yrs old i should know better but i can't wait till the next time. Carlos_Climber i'm at palace myself next to Anerley town hall, next time you're up there give me a shout i'm always up for it.

Hi Jim bob, i spoke to you fairly recently about getting my 4.9m Blade ll only last week. Luckily i had a experienced flier with me on my first outting and he done all the rigging for me and flew for the first few mins then passed it to me. As for the folding in tips that happened to mine but i was told it was where i was useing too much brake, now after 6 or so flights that don't happen. I'm sure that you may have overlooked somthing in the rigging coz my one was fine, very scary, but good scary. Don't get dishearted mate as far as im concerned you've got a real tool there just not set up properly. As soon as you've got it sorted you will realise how good it is but one thing someone else mentioned is don't go out with it in too much wind (seriously) you will not enjoy it these things can kick a$$ when they are set up right. Good luck mate.

Cheers you dudes for honest advice, like what most of you suggested i think i will get used to the Blade first and get dialed in, earlier on today i took it out in hardly any wind and this seems to be a better option. I was in complete control, only doing 5-10ft scuds through the window then just figure 8 ing and doing slow hovering scuds from side to side, i wish i had the dirtboard then, i would have got on it ! Don't think it would have been that excieting tho i,m looking for a buzz. I think 10mph winds in a few weeks with body armour seems like the best option to test my big boys toys together. Thanks again for your suggestions.

I've been out with my New 4.9m blade ll twice now and every time the first 10ft its fine but then all hell breaks loose and i'm skuddin then slideing on my @$$ and skimming across the surface what i love this is what its all about but........ I've got a brand spanking new Mongoose dirtboard 132 slalom sitting in my bedroom waiting to be used with this Blade, and i don't want to sound like a Dale Winton but theres no way that i would consider setting foot on this board at the moment i'd take off like a bullet. My question is, when i do get the bottle up to get on it should the Blade be at the top of the wind window or at the side, do i go down wind or across wind, how do i keep a sensible speed without breaks and talking of breaks how do i stop or slow it down? These might sound like stupid questions but i just can't picture the Blade and board together, well, not for a while yet anyway. PS:- I'm not a woose, honest, i may just need a bit more time to get used to the Blade, any suggestions?

Cheers for the invite Harleydog i will probably take you up on that in the next few weeks, it will be good for me to try a 4 line. At least if someones there when i first try it out they can call an ambulance if it all goes pear shaped!!! Will drop you a line soon.

Nice one Harleydog, seeing as your so close we may bump into each other at some point along the line, maybe somewhere down the south coast thats easiest for me. Thanks for your angle on a refund Rasga but i didn't specify what i was gonna do with it so he didn't really sell it to me i just thought it looked much stronger and better made than the others. He did say it was stronger than the others that was about it, oh yeh and he said thanks mate when i handed over £149.00. Well i got it now so i'm just gonna have to get £149.00 worth of use out of it!!!

No joy i'm affraid, rung the shop up and asked but in my eagerness to see my dirtboard complete i just ripped open the box and all packagin inside built it and binned the lot, my fault i spose! Looks like i'm stuck with it. In response to what you say thou Harleydog, i'm a thirty something and more up for mild air and speed, big air is not really what i'm lookin for, well maybe 3 or 4 ft once i've got used to it. Being a porker aswell, i've got piece of mind that its not gonna snap! Thanks for your views Harleydog, Spose i'll have to grin and bear it. If it does turn out to be real crap i'll just hang it on the wall with the rest of my bought on a whims. Cheers.

Cheers for your thoughts dudes, unfortunatly / fortunatly i have already bought the board, i think they had about 5 different types of boards in stock at the time. I didn't buy the slalom 132 because it was the most expensive, i bought it coz it looked far more robust & better built than the others, the rest just seemed to be like skateboards with wide trucks & fat tyres. I see wot you mean Spooky about springness it is fairly solid and i didn't even concider weight or length but a Blade 2 is coming my way March / April so i will have much more power soon. After having to deal with the hangover from hell most of the morning i didn't bother taking it out 2 day and its still unused (had a right gas a my local park with my 2 S10's thou). Now you've mentioned these points i may try to get a refund or exchange it. Have you got something that i might be interested in then Harleydog? Thanks for your help dudes look forward to any more info. Oh yeh, about weight, i'm a bit of a porker @ nearly 15st!

Please pardon my ignorance but, I,m about to go out on my new Mongoose dirt board, its the top of the range model that they do that retails at £299. The guy in the shop said sale price was half that at £150 !!! At that price i thought you can't go wrong. My questions to all experienced dirtboarders are:- 1) Can anyone give me any feedback on the Mongoose Pro slalom 132 2) This dirtboard comes with metal bridge shaped bindings covered in thick black high dense foam, unfortunatly i have to go out tonight and won't have time to drill holes to put the binding on... Is it possible to test out my board without bindings? I'm only using 2xS10 stacked Flexi's to power me. Please can anyone help. Will be back tonight (01/02/03) to see what you dudes think.
