  1. yeah very detailed, although i only understand 70% of it !!! I'll have to experiment, and if that fails i'll get someone to show me:) thanks!
  2. yeah 4.9 - i tried launching it in 20mph winds a few weeks back - went straight through the power zone and COMPLETELY wiped me out!! I'll try launching at the edge of the window next time though. So whats ur technique? Selsley isn't too uneven, but not the least friction of a surface! Do you pull brakes on slightly, pull up, steer to edge, take to top of window?
  3. yeah edge of window - tried that before without much luck - as soon as it lifted it pulled itself into the power zone and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......... i was gone! ah well, i'll keep trying that:) thanks!
  4. can someone please explain the basics of launching a kite in high winds (relative to the size of the kite)?? I want to know how to launch a kite without being dragged face first across the ground!! Whats the easiest method?
  5. another one of the reasons i bribed my parents to get broadband
  6. No probs
  7. glad i coulkd help! It will also allow videos - wmv, mpg, mpeg, mov files - but only up to 300kb sadly!
  8. free picture hosting at my website - http://kites.skrunge.co.uk - just upload them, and you're done!
  9. isn't it mainly built for drag? What's the drag like? I might save up for one of these after i've got a buggy (in the not too near future..... )
  10. wats happening at wallop and when?
  11. ex-squeeze me? thread hi-ja whatsit ????????
  12. and agger what's your mission?
  13. This kind of post was stupid, annoying, irritating, time wasting and retarded before the first person ever posted one of these annoying pointless posts. What an idiot. lol.
  14. ditto to the above in a non-pig ignorant way. My 4.9 completely wiped my out one day when it was too windy (last time i was up at selsley - last sunday of january), launced it and it was so windy it didn't even get to the top of the window before i was being pulled accross the common face first thru the mud - lucky i was wearing a helmet or i wud of had a serious headache! Be careful, they are more powerful than you think - especially when you first get used to them and learn your limits (like i have been doing - the hard way)
  15. 24ft - that's almost the size of like a three story house (without an apex roof though)!!!!!!!!!! Immense!
  16. I'm 15 and weigh about 11 stone. I bought the Blade II 4.9 as my first quad line kite, and i'm loving it!!!!!!! Apart from the fact it's been way too windy recently to get it out. I'll go with the general concensus and say check out other people's before you buy - the blade II 4.0m is a great kite with loads of power as well, and so is the 3.0m in the right conditions. Try other kites first, and if you haven't flown before see if you can get some other people to teach you and get more experienced first before you buy the 4.9 - it can be quite a beast sometimes. Probably just echoing what others have already said, but i thought i'd give my $0.02
  17. I bought a 4.9 Blade II as my first quad line kite. That's because i flew my friends 6.4 Blade II a lot and knew i wanted power, but not as much. As a beginner i'd get the 4.0m - it gives plenty of pull and lift in decent winds - as Si Fly would tell you (when i tried his it pulled me accross Selsley common until i managed to collapse it!?) IMHO get the 4.0m as your first kite - then as you get more kites, get a smaller one (for higher winds) then a larger one (for lighter winds) as a 4.0 is alright for lighter winds as well.
  18. cheers mate - glad you like it! Thanks for the kind words
  19. park flying? you mean flying in a park? I only ever do that occasionally (well, not a park - a field) ie. when i cant get a lift to selsley or cleeve, or when i have just got back from school and want somewhere quick to go flying. Much better (and safer) to fly on a common. Never flown on a beach yet though, can't wait for that day to come.................
  20. lol - so now you have a dog pee smelling harness? nasty...
