  1. G'day! I'm also a Bath type buggy person. Although somewhat kiteless at the mo!!!! (interesting) Where you been buggying?
  2. been away for a while and gettin back into buggyin HOORAY!!!!!! Obviously the situation has progressed somewhat over the last year while me melons been 'over-ripe' and I would like to know where I can still buggy and what restrictions are in place and beaches totally closed. I used to use..... crabtree in the 'stoke ('ello rasga you little worm) Westward ho! Saunton Perranporth Pendine Pembrey selsey common But any places in the bath area would be good! p.s. I know about lansdowne in bath cheers!!!
  3. There also used to be one called the ministry of SAND in penzance! Slightly more apllicable for the beach I feel?
  4. ha ha, if you trim the directories of the url there is a very bizare photo site..... nice music though........ CHEESE FACTORY HERE!
  5. Have yet to try gwithian with the supertruck, don't fancy trying to get it down those steps on my own! The special was hard enough work! LOL! Perranporth is pretty good as is holywell, but that's a bit of a trek from the car park!
  6. little devils are pretty stable, actually the most stable kite I've flown. They pull well too! Maybe not as fast as a bullet but I've never head to headed one! Jusy my very humble opinion
  7. yes, well, erm.......... Rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated I've been out of the loop for a while, lost the plot a bit in more ways than one. Couldn't make middle wallop due to prior commitments with a large quantity of floury baps ( i bloody hate hot bank holidays) and unfortunately can't make the x-zone games for various reasons. However, I will be at the summer buggy break with very big knobs, and shall duly bring a quantitity of said floury baps! And as for me avoiding a beer tent young neil........CHEEKY FECKER!!!!
  8. are you gonna use it for buggying? If so it really depends on your weight. If you go to the ozone website they have the wind ranges coupled to weights for all their kites.
  9. the 3.5m is probably closest in my humble xperience. I think the 4.5 would fall somewhere between the 4.9 and 6.4 and so on and so forth. Probably will be corrected!
  10. On the subject of speedos young man........ My very honestly returned cateye one now reads a max speed of 37.7mph. A whole lot more respectable I thinkyou'll agree
  11. PErsonaly I prefer the ho! Less touroids and a beter beach imho! WAs there today in fact!
  12. Where do you live rupert? I'm in chippenham and am suffering exactly the same problem! I'm sure there was talk of somewhere on salisbury plain that was suitable for the use of the buggy. It was army land that they use for camping, hence kept flat and short grass, but still open to joe public! might have to dig out my o/s maps and have a hunt! Personaly, i've been going to pendine recently, it's either that or saunton really. Weston is ok but very small and a bit smelly mud. You could try westward ho! as they haven't banned buggying (yet) and it's nearly as good as saunton ( a bit wet sometimes though) Any other ideas? LAters Spencer
  13. Go on then..... get it out and prove it! :D
  14. VASELINE oooooh MAtron! That's my secret! Hello NEIL!!!!! Haven't seen your kite at the 'tree when I've been driving past? And today was sunny and windy so you had NO excuse! Can get my supertruck in the back of the honda civic! could easily fit another buggy in also, but it would have to be broken down. current contents of my civic,,,,, 1xsupertruck 1xgroundstake 2xrazors 1xlittle devil 2x stuntkites 1xsuper 10 (make that 3 stuntkites!) 2 knackered old kites 1xprototype kite bar (wooden) 2xrugs 1xchange of clothes 1xset of waterproofs 1xtyrepump (electric) 2xmaps 38xempty dunhill packets 1xpassenger footwell full of crap 15kilos sand 1xpacket of wrigleys extra 1x car vacuum cleaner h ahha haahahahahahaha my mum says I ramble on a bit sometimes.... i reckon she talks out of her @rse!!!!
  15. yes neil, I meant the bike wheels. The tra'err wheelz be foine me boi, but only really be ov uze around 'arvest time! (god I love being from zommerzet) The big wheels generate more drag than eddie izzard when used on standing water. Hence the need for disc wheels or bike wheels etc. My plan was to buy another axle with camber adjustment (and probably wider). So burgy, do your back wheels have bearings or are hey just running on the hub (unlikely i feel, but point needs clarification) cheers for the help guys
  16. Anybody got any ideqas on how I'd go about attatching a couple of mtb wheels to the back of my buggy? Just wondring whether they would accept the standard 20m bolts for the libre axle and what to do abvout bearings etc?
  17. do the back seats fold down? I can fit my super-truck in the back of my honda civic hatch with axle and back wheels off this way. Also still have room for kites and whisky! Couldn't face the massive increment in petrol consumption putting the blasted thing on the roof or a bike rack, plus I'm not geoff bloody capes!!!!!
  18. not sure chap, I've just moved back up to chippenham, used to live here before i flew and buggied. Moved back and buggered if I can find anywhere local. Let me know if you find anywhere cool! desperate to get out soon!
  19. gwithian is indeed lovely, just a bit tricky getting the buggy down onto the beach when it weighs more than I do! Definately need bigfoots as well, lots of soft places. I think there is a bit of a buggy explosion at the moment, I'm all for new people trying the sport but it's starting to get overcrowded at a lot of regular flying spots, and it's only gonna be a matter of time before somebody gets injured ot injurs a member of the public. As far as gwithian goes I think there are alot of bans on various places at the moment so all these new buggiers are being concentrated into fewer and fewer places. just mho!
  20. ah well guys, no wife, no worries, and my 8.5 razor should be here on saturday or monday!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!! Bring on summer when I can actually fly the feckin thing. Btw I seem to be suffering some sort of repetitive strain injury in my right wrist p.s. I have a 3.5m as well and i love it to bits, except for the time it nearly killed me at saunton! lol

    welders

never welded so never burnt myself with one. But I'm a baker and it's a bit of an occupational hazard, especially when you first start, I've had some hoolies that have needed hospital treatment. You soon learn, or at least your body seems to develop an inate knowledge, of whats hot and what's not. Or somesuch whatnot!
  22. never had any probs with carl returning calls etc. I know he is very busy normally and he may even be away at a trade fair or on holiday or some such. Try him again, you can't go wrong with paying no vat. And NO! I don't want to get into that debate again!

    any ideas?

p.s. the weather should be perfect sunday pm. The rain should've cleared so I'll be up there then. definately with the razors and maybe with the buggy!
  24. gandhi

    any ideas?

is your bee power-ringed? If not do a search on the forums for power-rings and that should tell you how t do it! Basically it's a line that runs from the power lines to the brake lines and keeps them parallel to the main lines. Reducing drag, stopping them overflying etc. Darkwater has a site that tells you all about them! Dw's ring of power! click here should tell yu all you need to know.
