great review john, they sound really good and i wish i could get hold of some now as i'm in need of two sets of handles and don't want to fork out wasted money on flexi's. Anyone know when they're due out? Lee
Just recieved by first power kite, a PKD Buster 4m.
I finally settled for this kite over others as i'd heard about good build quality and a nice stable kite for starting out; as well as being bid enough for a decent pull. I also found a great deal from www.bilboquet.com which was for £125 inc delivery so that but this kite above the Beamer for me as it seemed to be better value for money.
The package arrived, i opened the box and was greeted with the stuff sack which, although simple, is great for when you end up with a few kites and don't want loads of rucksacks to carry around. I also believed that they didn't skimp on the cost of the build of the kite to include a flashy rucksack.
Opened the stuff sack and pulled out the kite. I was very pleased with my choice, the quality of sail was very good and the stitching was on the inside which is an added advantage as it's less likely to get damaged as it scrapes along the floor. I loved the simple design of the kite with bold colour on the top and white on the underside with the pkd logo offset to one side. It's a shame that some of the kites out there get overdesigned with graphics and horrible choice of colours.
The handles were a nice size and made of metal and foam grip.
Took it for my first flight on Monday in about 5-7mph winds and performed well. All i have to compare to is a 4m Ozone Samurai which i demoed in the about the same wind speed and i couldn't tell much difference!
It has to be said though that these are beginners views and a more eperienced flyer may notice more differences.
I'm just now waiting for more wind to see how it does and whether i'll get any good scudding or even any jumps.
My overall opinion of the Buster was excellent. I'm very impressed and feel it's the perfect kite for a beginner that's a quick learner, therefor I feel I wouldn't get bored too quickly with the 4m and i can still make good use of it in the future when i go onto bigger kites and the wind isn't quite right.
