  1. I got my flight deck one year ago and this is how it's held up and what I think of it. First thing I had to do was install the bindings. They are G.I. roots bindings and came with detailed instructions as to where to lay out the holes and stuff but they didnt suit me so I ended up with extra holes in my board...live and learn .Only you know what works for you.The bindings are comfy and durable. I board on sand so I ordered slick tires. My other board had some knobby things on that were so slow i thought there had to be something better out there and I was right.Kinda suprised slick tires havent caught on,Kudos to G.I. I wiegh 200 puonds so of course the board has pop. It's made of maple and the concave feels good .Flexs when you torque really hard in a carve.Might be stiff for a lightwieght though. The trucks are outdated now,G.I. has beefed up some aspects, changed some geometry and just improved an already good design. The have cool cubes that let you stiffen or soften the action. The only thing I dont like is the friction pads .They keep your ride stiff and seem to require keeping an eye on cuz I lost one and and 3 others came loose but they are cheap to replace and e.z. too I use my Flightdeck as a kiteboard and beat the snot out of it and after 1 year I am still very pleased. All it does is inspire you to style out and push yourself. Cost is O.K.,Handling superb....10 out of 10 points from me Rick McGaffey By : windthing2
  2. I now have a few nice long sessions with a new 05 in various wind condition .This is what I think of it. In around 15 mph wind this thing is so fun to fly. No need to depower using the trimmer because the bar does enough. Iwas very impressed with the speed and maneuverability. Power delivery is smooth and predictable and even in light wind you can wring some juice out of the thing. Safety features are simple to use and behavior when the re-ride is activated is predictable. The Frenzy 05 is setup for a leash but it does not come with one. This attaches to the hand brake and would work fine if you care to use one. The chicken loop also has a pin and loop system that I have yet to deploy. Reverse launch is done by pulling the handbrake and the kite rises ,turns then settles to the ground ready to take off again. Launching is done from center window or the edge ,full depower with very little effort. Depower off and you will get a good scud out of it. I use this kite for kiteboarding on a Ground Industries Flight deck and the combo is great. A lot of confidence from both pieces so jumps and carving slides come ez. Air time is long and seems like you can go as high as you want, redirect late and still have a good canopy to land softly. Ozone has a great reputation for quality. This new Frenzy is up to par with that and initial setup and safety are well described in the included manual. Comes with a large bag with cool straps and buckles. The kite fits in it easily no matter if you fold carefully or wad it up. I fly on the coast so wind is steady but ventured to a gusty spot where the wind was blowing across the island and the kite behaved o.k. but the smooth wind was defiantly better .I have flown this from 8-17 mph don't really know how much wind I will fly it in but not close to topping out yet .I weigh 200#. I give this kite 9 out of 10 points for handling and performance Have fun, Rick By : windthing2
  3. www.pegaskites.com sorry .should have put it in in the begaining
  4. So...I got to fly 2of these kites. The 3.5 and the 6.5.The conditions were a cool clear day with strong north wind blowing over land to the shore on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. The wind was very gusty and fairly steady in direction. The wind speed was 20 gust to 35 early morning. I got out the 3.5 first thinking that It might fly better than any of my race kites in the gust's,well i was right .Smooth steady pull great managable power. and no tendancy to luff. what more can you ask for? Side pull in the buggy was minimal considering how hard it was blowing in the gusts. I passed it along to some other buggiers who all had great things to say about it .While it was out I started hooking up the 6.5 on the Pegas Wingwarp Depower setup. It Had a Pegas bar and all the rigging seemed to be of fine quality. The gust seemed to stop and left the wind at a steady 18-20 mph so I got a good session on a mountain board. The depower worked as well as the 3.5 did on handles.I have to say I was impressed with the way the kite handled on bar.It felt good in my hands and control both with power and kite placement was cool. when you look at the Pegus line you see quality and attention to detail like diagonal bracing and clean seams. The kites shape in the air is clean,no buckles or wrinkles....always inflated. I recomend these to anyone looking for a very versitile, intermediate, peformance kite By : windthing2
