    Brazil

Blast pretty much said it all, I lived there for 18 months, you can stay in Cumbuco or Taiba if you like waves. Taiba is another 30kms up the road so easy to get too. There is another popular spot for wave riding which is the Port of Pecem, the wind is sightly ofshore so perfect to ride the waves. Cumbuco is a village in expansion, there are a lot of koreans there due to the large developments being done in the area so language is not a problem, my take is, rent a self catering flat where you have the freedon to do what you want, there are loads of places like that so not problem to find, you can check Flat Shop Imobiliária - Imobiliária em Fortaleza, Casas, Apartamentos, Terrenos em Fortaleza, Compra, Venda, Locação de Imóveis. and talk to Adriana, she will sort you out, there is also Itaculpa (Itacupa, Tabuba Brasil em Caucaia/CE), this B&B is owned by a Spaniard called Sergio Pereira, he is a mean kiter and loves adventures, also has SUP available all the time. If you want a bid more class there is always Duro Beach hotel you can talk to Adrian or Chris, both top guys, the food there is brilliant and the also have a kite shop by the hotel (Durobeach | Home). You must try to get to Paracuru, top spot with flat water near the beach and some nice waves on the outside. There are a lot of fun to be had, it will only depend on money and stamina... if you need anymore info please drop me a pm. Have fun!
  6. Egypt is the place to be for beginners. My wife and I are going to Soma Bay in September, I can already Kite and she is currently having lessons so there will be the perfect spot for her to progress... Loads of flat water and warm weather for your other half. We are staying at the Breakers, on half board just inside your budget!!! Good luck.
  7. I'll try to catch it on Iplayer! Good one mate!
  8. Cumbuco, Brazil you cant go wrong, as Blast he will tell you about it!
  9. NO Kiting for me either, broken wrist 3 weeks ago...
  10. If you like RRDs have you tried the Passion? I leaned on the Passion and I still have it, have tried others but nothing compared to it at least to me anyway, i like the kite with some bar pressure and strong feedback and the Passion does it for me. As as other have said, go out and try it, no better way of doing it really. cheers.
  11. Nice work mate!
  12. I'll be there! hope the weather holds though... Will the club hut be opened? Cheers.
  13. Big Plus 1 to that!!!!
  14. Really cool video and great trip! I wish I could come on the second week but I have no more holidays left after booking Soma Bay in September! But will keen in the diary for next year. Where are you guys going in Brazil? Cumbuco? I was a local there for 18 months... brilliant place. Cheers.
  15. I'd go for a north board 6"0 to 6"2 max a big board will bounce at the chop and will make the ride difficult to adjust specially if it is strapless trust me it happened to me. My first ride on a surfboard was on a 6"4 and was very hard to keep the board under my front foot. Get a cheap surfboard for your initial practice then upgrade to something better.
  16. I might do the first 10 miles but it will depend when it happen as ill be in Soma Bay for 2 weeks during September. So Ill just keep my eye on the event.
  17. Where can we try it on the Brighton/Lancing Area?
  18. Really cool and crazy!!!
  19. Mate you can't go wrong with Cumbuco in Brazil, constant winds average 22 nots day in day out, loads of options of flat and waves, endless downwinds, warm weather and water, and £1xR$3 currency. There are loads of small e affordable places to stay. Check it out. Best flight option is London/Lisbon/Fortaleza.
  20. Check the Airush kites I believe the Varial X is a 5 line C'ish kite, my mate in Cumbuco (Brazil) changed all his F-ONE kites for the Airush line.
  21. I have a friend that flies NEO (7m & 9m) with 4 lines and he love's it!! even though these kites also have a 5th line set up.. Maybe take the 5th line out of yours and see what happens... it it is possible of course.
  22. Get a 4 line Kite Munez... that will never happen again! I learned on 4 lines and never saw the benefit of a 5th line despite of what people say that is it is safer but I have never has a problem depowering my kites when I ran into trouble when I was learning.
  23. How About Soma Bay in Egypt! check it out!
