I'm a qualified climbing instructor and kayaking instructor. I have been on assessments with complete muppets when I have paddled or climbed near them, but on the day they manage to do things right and pass! I think its that they cut corners and think they are big and clever when they are on there own and safety takes more of a back seat.
So maybe this AP can do everything right when he needs to (or fluked it on the day?) But isn't it the responsibility of others who see others fly unsafe to report them if they are known to be in a place of responsibility? I don't mean to get them struck off, but shown the right way in how things should be done and what should always be avoided!
If he becomes a fully qualified instructor he might get a job at a very reputable training centre and teaching young ones unsafe practice.
