What to leave NT or just to come out to play?

Don't tell me you all went to Bribie today? Well so what? Had a cracking day at murarrie 2day made up for yesterday A good 20kmh gusting up to 32, started on the predator until it became the master and then ended in a big fight with the 4.9 blade, god I luv that kite, it's ready to rip yer arms off and stuff them in the holes backwards its just made. Good session cracking the 40 kmh mark, and finally the bearings gave up and the left hand wheel collapsed. I had taken your advice Simon and bought some new ones: Kitepower $17.00 beenleigh bearings $4.00 a bargin if ever I 've seen one. Anyway going on what has been said about all these threads becoming one, may I make a suggestion? Well I'm going to anyway. Why don't we start a where we're going to be and when thread. No Boll*^%S or small talk just the facts, this will now mean that we don't have to trowel through loads of threads trying to find each other? Anyway that s all I,ve got to say for now. Yooh its me, yer the once a week man, the forum that is no wise comments from you load of dogs? I should really catch up more and get on this net thing more often. I would be up for a road trip, cyclones sound fun to, who do you reckon would have the first OBE? Just give me some time to get another job first. Between us I'm sure we got a couple of utes, i cant be the only one wiv a ute, for f&*(k sake int this sopozed to be Australia? we could load up and split the fuel, I,m sure I could get 4 in me old ford and all the takle, don't do bathrooms and kitchen sinks though. Marty if you home soon it looks like I can come and play with you at last? Mutty: The king of the OBE experience, nobody does it better?

Been up to mararrie today what a waste of time that was no wind at all. Looking to be going to brighton/sandgate either Monday or Tuesday dependant on tide, now that I am one of the unemployed! Will post whan I've decided.

Cheers for the advice Marty, Might even stick the board to me feet and have a go at that kite surfing or is it drowning thing that you all do. Yer Simon I will do that mate, now that you are all grown up and in a buggy. Going on what Marty was saying might just fill me kite bag with sand and go all out for a speed blast. Uuuuuuumh cameras would be good and where's the nearest hospital to sandgate? As for simon I think you'er very cruel to him but I'm sure he deserves it.

A guess by that u mean an inflatable? Got 1 but it's a 14m Rebel. I haven't seen any one in a buggy yet at that size and its not so easy to self lanch (I think) as a normal kite, seem to do alot of kiting on my own? I think the real answer is don't be such a f*^( wit and keep the kit out of the water.

No dudes just been seeing if I can get a motorcycle around a bend at an angle of less than 30 degrees from the black top, and yes you can. Anyway, I have been out at sangate but other than marty no one else wants to play there. Boo Hoo. It was going great until I dipped the corner of the blade in a puddle and then it was like tryinng to fly a lead balloon. I'm up for some big k's and some big speed so keep us up dated and like a genie I will appear. No rubbing required.

Whats everyones movements this week end, and I don't mean pants down action from the rear end? Need to catch up with you all and find out what the gos is. You all seem to be clocking up good K's and speeds. What's happening?

Going to the park this afternoon, any takers?

harden the chuff up, Matey

All, Good to get a number of us out there and good wind, Murarrie has redeemed itself and I slag it off, too much anymore. I can see the advantage of the depowers now as I had to change kites 3 times to deal with the increasing wind. My GPS clocked more that 10 Km in distance and and over 40 km/h for speed on the 4.9 Blade its a ball buster but oooooooooooooh so much fun. It did lift me about 6 foot off the floor at at point Quote "it's not that gusty" My elbox hurts like chuff though were the 3.5 bullet pulled me out. But thats what its all about. A great day was had by all I can confidently say and here's to the next one. Ride on brothers (or do you pilot a buggy?) in which case just keep flying. PS: think we nedd to do a weekeknder so we can share stories, beer and do silly things in a drunken stuper!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wind forecast for 10 to 13 knots from the North. Me and Simon going planning on going. I will be there from about 10.00 am Simon to confirm Anyone else interested? I intend to stay as long as the wind is blowing, and it better chuffin' blown.

Sorry I missed you Marty, The look looks familiar though still got two sessions worth of kit hanging on the line and de sanding. Spent the week end getting the sand out of me kites too. As discussed on the phone dude let me know when you're back in town and I will definitely get out with you. Friday arvo was a good session even in the little breeze there was, the predator got me up to 30+. God I love that kite!!! Anyway glad you had a good un and harden up, been kiting when theres two foot of snow on the ground, an that does freeze your stones. Keep smiling (exceot on sandgate) and keep flying. Who's doing what this Wednesday?

Super big winds on saturday, so may be worth going if you cut all the trees down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure what's on the agenda this weekend yet, if I can escape will do.

Got a set of 8.5 inch rear wheels but never put them on the buggy for the beach, slows you down, stops you doing tricks and knackers the wheel bearings really quick. I ride on standard Flexifiol buggy wheels and I've never had a problem and I'm over 100.00 kgs so I ain't light. Stop making excuses and get out there and fly. If the wind is good I hope to be there tomorrow afternoon. Got a meeting at 1300 but hopfully will be done y 1430 so intend to be on th ebeach by about 1500. Please, please, please be some wind, even 10 knots is good enough.

You lot are no fun keep your axle narrow and your buggy unstable. Brings out the man in you and lets you get great speed wobbles on.

Thanks for the advice Alan, I never have encountered the algea at the beach and as for soft sand, I find it quite rare over the entire beach at low tide. I agree about the stingray holes though. I tend to stick the front wheel in as the back wheel hitting them tend to try and throw me out at high speed. I have also found due to its width and breadth it doesn't realy matter which way the wind is blowing there is plenty to go at unlike Bridie which is very narrow and very wind direction dependant. Again as always I will promote Sandgate and Brighton as it all runs into one and even as Sunsday on a SE wind I was able to run most of the beach from tip to tip. And as you know the lighter than air kite flies in anything. The only problem is after about 10 knots it is too big to hang on to, as stated it tried to pull me out on sunday, now that I've emptied all the sand out of her she's even better. Keep smiling even if you do have to eat the algea. Does that count as one of your 5 a day?

Guys and girls, I have started another thread for sandgate. I know you lot aren't big fans of the place but I love it theres planty of technical stuff, water and shity black sand. Got out on Sunday, the winds were very light a about 6 knots, but launched the Predator 7.3m and got plenty of runs in. Even cracked the 20km/h mark. No, Alan I was not pushing the buggy this time. The puddles on the beach were nice and warm and even got a touch of sun burn. Pulled some good two wheel tricks to impress the locals. Beach was busy but still loads of room and no hassles. Tides moving out to late afternoon by end of the week so may be going up again dependant on winds? Anyway enjoy wherever you are buggyng as long as you are.

Well it was good to see you guys out at stupid o'clock. More foolish than hardy but what the hell. Got some good runs in totalled about 20k and got up to 42.5km/h on the 5 meter Riot. Plenty of power in it especially when it was hooked up to the harness. Managed to retrim it and its flying a hole lot better now. Managed an outside loop turn haven't done that for a long time, more luck than judgeent though due to kite getting behind me. Good to see ypu again jason. From what I saw of ya turns they weren't that bad, it wasn't a brilliant wind direction for turning, I tended to dive towards the sea to bring me kite around harder into the wind and take off across the beach rather than up it. Stick with it, it will just fall into place and from what i've seen not to long. You're kite set up won't really effect your turn as your kite is pretty manoeuvrable anyway. It all boils down to timimg. No dramas on the lift home simon just glad to see you got it sorted and it wasn't owt serious, other than $180 bucks, thats painful. REMEMBER: if is looks suicidal try it, it will make some one laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flippin' heck mate, this is a long post to see if anyone is going to Bribie at the weekend, that being 18th or 19th. Please, please, please give me a call on 0431 522 618 and invite me along. I might be ugly but am good for a laugh. Do lots of that ejecting out of the buggy stuff at high speed. I can't stand another day at "No wind Marurrie" PS: If it looks suicidal do it, it'll make someone laugh
-
I am, but I think a night run would be better at Sandgate? Want lots of speed and no trees to run into. See my last thread about finding new places. Give me a ring when you're doing it 0431 522 618 PS; If it looks dangeous do it

Well Saturday came and what a crap day again at Marurrie Park. No wind, the 7.3 Pred wouldn't even fly! So I've starting looking for some more places to fly. I have had my eye on a few development sites that haven't been worked for about 12 months and a few other areas. I am looking to get in touch with the owners and see if I can get us on there. Anything has got to be better than Marurrie Park? Anyway if you see anything that mght be promising give me a call and if possible a contact number to get hold of the land owner. I heard a load went up to Bribie at the weekend, I hope you had more sucess than we did at Marurrie? I can only make weekends due to work commitments but if anyone is planning on going to Bribie PM me. Need some contact numbers? Any of you guys wanting to 'hard it up' later in the week. looking to go to Sandgate either Wednesday or Thursday arvo after work. Winds are looking good, Westerlies up to 30 Kmh and low tides at about 5ish so should be able to get on the beach from about 3. Stll haven't sorted my spotties out for night flying but anyone up for some night flying? If it looks like its dangerous, do it!!!!

No like 'sMUTTY the TART' which is too much of a mouthful. Its a long story but the name stuck. Anyone wanting to call me Mattthew wiv the double 'T' is likely to get a slap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway saw a nice oval race course on the way to Sandgate, Deagon or something like? has anyone asked if we could fly in the middle of that? no statics to get lines tangled, may need the grass cut first though?

i,m on my way just got to go via a site first, hopefully be there for 2ish
