looking for an entry level landboard for use in windy Canberra! 75kg and can windsurf / kitesurf, no particular kites in mind yet. I have a 2m trainer that might just work in our 30knot gusts to get comfortable with kite and board at once. just learnt about the demo kite system too... could be trouble PS i plan to be at mayday next weekend

might be able to drop by amaroo if weather is good i'm looking at the $750 landboarding package at briskites + kitesurf waist harness since bar and harness is what i know so far... but it's the trainer for the short term by the time i can get the landboard, it'll be time for kitesurfing at broulee!

30 knot gusts heading to dickson ovals missed it! i think i've invented a new breed of kiting - "kitefishing" where you walk around a big oval thinking you can find the one spot where there's a corridor of wind just for you to fly in. it doesn't work that way... impressive sunset and wall of cloud with the western sun sinking over the top

i can't believe you guys actually went out in that weather! 8 deg with a windchill down to -1 on the BOM!!! go CBR! i turned up at about 1130 to 1315. there were periods of blue sky when i was there, and it was amazing to see it go from blue to rain and blue in bands of about 20mins. i had my 1.5 'new' trainer kite up in 25 to 35 knots, and looping it caused me to stagger forward from a sitting start (75kg) - was fun! i reckon a landboard and i could have moved a bit even with the trainer. catch ya next time.

looks like the 2nd cold front came thru at 0000 - 0200 this morning its now 8 deg C and blowing 15 to 25 knot westerly, with an apparent temp of 1 deg C! i said cold not near freezing! i might wait a few hours for it to reach the warm max of 11 today, also to see what time you guys are heading out if at all?

didn't see your reply in time, spent too long at the bar after sport today. saw your post at 1715 tried to come out at 1730 but saw a lot of rain on the way from the NW so bailed out! almost dark and thought you'd probably be packed up as well. bugger - perhaps tomorrow or on another weekend.

i'm thinking about this, could you please suggest basic types of accom options - ie. camp / cabin / deluxe spa... i have no gear other than a 1.5 trainer kite, would there be stuff to try out? i've spotted those dunes from google earth a few times, good to see you're gonna tackle them with those moon buggies!

Hi all, First post here. Just noted that there are some "interesting" winds due this weekend. I was thinking of rugging up and flying my trainer in the 20 knot westerlies they are predicting. I might try Dickson ovals and Amaroo if that doesn't work. anyone else planning to brave it? About me: I've recently learned to kitesurf but have zero gear apart from my 1.5m trainer kite. I hope to get some gearm and kitesurf more in Spring 2009 but until then will just be out flying the trainer in our wonderful Canberra winter winds.
