  1. Is this thing still available ? or sold
  2. I have been using barrow size wheels for years now, with Vespa road tyres that ballance at speed, not like a normal barrow tyre that gets really bad at around 35mph. These things have dome me well both on grass (wet or dry) and on the sand, as we only race on the hard stuff anyway. I have found that a 1200 axle works best for me as the 1400 just feels too big and the 1200 lets me do freestyle and speed with the same buggy, and it all fits in the car easier as well. Cheers, Dukey
  3. Used to do a lot of night beach runs, usually under a full moon. It was a real hoot surprizing the occasional lovers strolling unsuspecting along the beach with the hooter I had strapped on the buggy. Don't think we would get away with doing it these days..... Probably get thrown off the beach by some irate fun police. Cheers, Dukey
  4. Mainly my 4.5 Raptor Followed closely by 6.8 GT
  5. Personally I have never bought a buggy, having always made my own, and upgrading it to what I have now, in many small steps over the years. All that said, I started with a basic PL Comp look-alike at a time when they were only fresh on the market (showing my age now) and I never had any major issues doing big speeds back then and that was with 2 string kites. Lets face reality here. there are still a lot of basic buggies out there, still going strong. We even had a local buggier recently introduce himself to the sport by making his own WOODEN buggy. Cheers, Dukey
  6. G'day Dave, I agree with the reccommendation of not using the GT in the dunes mate, You would remember first hand how I fly with my old Raptors, and I still love them dearly. I am looking for a replacement for my tired old 6.5 and was given the 6.8 GT to try out. On the beach with a steady breeze I would have to say the GT's are a magic kite to play with and it really performed well in the races on the weekend, yes I finnished fourth, but every kite ahead of me was bigger than 6.8 so I wasn't dissappointed at all. However, previous testing of the GT has been inland with lumpy wind conditions and it really takes some input to prevent it from collapse or the dreaded bowtie, similar to the old Yak's. I would hazzard a guess and say it would be bordering on dangerous in the dunes, even with the armour you wear. Neil Duke P.S. Say Hi to Brig for me, Cheers, mate
