  1. Hey everybody, is anybody at canmore, on the spray lakes today or tomorrow...I'm planning on going there this afternoon or tomorrow...let me know it would be cool to meet up with some ppl as I dont really know the area... Give me a call 5146493519 cheers drew
  2. hey if you wanna go snowkiting in Switzerland check out unhooked.ch great spots and how to get there, etc. all in there, only down turn for you possibly, it is in german, but I guess you will still be able to check out the different locations, there are a lot of spots...
  3. Thanx for all your inputs! I will go to Calgary (as my flight gets me there) check out the city for one or two days and then head to banff...the Same Sun Hostel has been mentioned to me before (I guess you mentioned it already Transcanadatom)...anyway, I'm going there not only to snowkite but also to do some backcountry snowboarding...so if banff is cool I will stay there for 2 weeks...if it isnt, which I doubt I will move on to lake louise, etc. Cheers
  4. I think Slave lakes is too far up north, as I dont have a car. What kind of size do you ride? I got a 7.5 HQ kite, hope that works...also do you know if there is a shop where you can rent freeriding equipment, such as shovel, pole, and avalanche sender/receiver... Just to make sure, when you said there is no place to rent kites, did this go for canmore only or also for banff?? Thanx for the info... Cheers Andreas
  5. Hey transcanadatom, the option of renting your condo sounds interesting, but I guess a 2 bedroom place is too much as I am traveling by myself...bytheway, can you recommend any hostels or places to crash... And would I need a car to access the spots you described above?? Bytheway, as you seem to be a local, is there some kind of kiting community...spots where people go often, places to rent stuff, etc. Thanks for the info
  6. hey, thank you very much for the info... I haven't booked anything yet, but it looks like I will go to banff...I will keep the forum posted about my experience. Cheers
  7. Hello everybody, I first like to say hello, as I'm a newbie in this forum. Now, my question: I got 3 weeks in January to go Snowkiting either in the States or in Canada...(January 5th till 25th) and I would like to have as many snowkiting days as possible just like everybody, and if there's no wind I would just go snowboarding...so that's the limitation, kinda, besides that I'm open to anything, maybe something not overly crowded... I have checked out several threads on this and other forums, but some of them seemes that some of them are kinda old... Places that I read of: Whistler, Banff, Denver area, Salt Lake City... Thank you very much for some good ideas
