Just got into Kite boarding and since getting my new kit I haven't had the opportunity to have a good practise. Living in North London I've found a few open grassy areas but its been lacking in the wind department.
Visted my mum this weekend who lives in Felpham near Bognor and I was looking forward to hitting a beach with some nice clean wind. A mate surfs at the witterings and said give that a go. got down for 9am low tide, paid my £7 parking fee found a lovely open beach grabbed my gear only to be told by a lifeguard I can't use my board due to them expecting a lot of people that day, said I could fly my kite though. Disapointed I thought may as well fly my kite while I'm here then shortly after another lifeguard tells me to take it down, even though at the time hardly anyone there so I left a bit peeved of paying £7 for nothing.
I jumped on the net after getting to my mums, found out I needed club membership at witterings anyhow! My cousin mentioned littlehampton said he had seen some people on the green kiteboarding after some googling found on this forum that it had a ban few years back. Looked at Goring by Sea which was just up the road. So set out the the next day went to L'hampton was low tide nice long beach, the green wasn't that big but looked ok, I couldn't see any signs but was worried about this ban I had read about so decided I better not bring the sport into disrepute at this early stage! Moved on to Goring by sea and found everywhere the sign as attached, all boarding and buggying prohibited!
Was a little disheartened as I thought this was gonna be the weekend I got some good practise in.
Does anyone know any beaches around that area that are accessible without bans that are any good?
