I thought I'd share my experiences of the Alpinefoil access 5.0 Hydrofoil. I purchased this in the winter and although I haven't been able to get out on it much. In the last couple of weeks the wind has been a bit more favourable.
The foil itself is stunning - the craftsmanship is excellent and it is the nicest aluminium foil I've seen and comes with carbon wings.
It's taken me 5 sessions to get the hang of it so in less than 10 hours I'm up on the foil and able to ride downwind and upwind pretty consistently. Foil is really fast, stable responsive and smooth.
I didn't want to get a beginner foil incase I outgrew it (I spoke to a fellow foiler who bought a Sroka foil which he loves, but he was already looking to upgrade as he felt he'd reached it's limits.) It came with a larger front wing but if and when I feel I want to change things I can just purchase a new wing rather than the whole foil.
Next objective is tacking/Gybing!
