I just tried out the PL hornet2.0 today that I bought for my girlfriend (she is small!) It came with really short lines - must be 15, poss 20M What a world of difference it was to my old skytiger40 with its mile long lines (must measure both sets so i know what i'm on about!) the new lines must be half the length of my old ones.......things I noticed (some might be to do with different kite of course) I could not take my eye off it for a second- was all over the place! Was not very nice to me when it got hit by a gust either. Despite that - I felt like I was more in control.......... .......it was however blowing a gale!!! and when I hit 25mph on my first run (prob within 100meters) decided to take it easy for the rest of the time!

most of it does get flooded in the winter - still flooded now, even in summer it is still boggy but there is a good area at the top that never floods - 500m wide and prob 1.5km long - does for me just have to avoid the model airplane group!! Grrrrr

nice - when I first took my skytiger down the beach, I got a bit too close and managed to ditch it in the water......lines over my shoulder, heaving out the biggest heaviest ugliest jellyfish ever..... no more flying that day - and an afternoon untangling.......lesson learnt!!!!

Not familiar with the SkyTiger40. Was that the pre-runner to Flexifoil's SkyTiger Hi40? Anyone know what's the difference in is in the kite construction? all the details about them are here; http://www.cobrakite.com/skytiger.html all I know is that when i bought it - the Hi40 was more expensive!!!

5 girls are beating me!!! Agree'd.... something to shoot for!! Shame I left my GPS at home today - a few gusts today had me feeling alot quicker than i've felt before!!

Cheers for the advice... went out today for the first time with a harness and the buggy was a lot more stable! must be to do with being pulled from much lower down, the ride was still pretty on edge which is quite a buzz. Might just stick with the standard PL folder for a bit longer, or untill a cheap bug comes my way

yep - sounds a very similar story to mine!! although the salt flat was not as forgiving as it sounds like sand might of been! top tip, will try slowing down!! going off on one now - when I start thinking about slowing down... I seem to just accelerate faster, without doing anything other than thinking!!!

The wind today is up to 30mph... is there a kite out there that would be suitable for buggying today? All that wind has to be good for something!?!?

It must be fairly simple to bolt on an extra wide rear axle to my PL???? not an ideal soloution but could offer a bit more stability!?!???

Cheers, that was with my skytiger40 (not a Hi40) After my first week doing it - the grazes all over my body has taught me the need for more protection- have always been wearing a skid lid, but just scored some free body armour today Don't think there are any retailers over here selling serious kit so might look into getting something knocked up by my friendly welder - I could not wait the month it'll take one to get shipped over!!

nice lookin bugg - would love to have a go one like that. I reckon the best thing would be to learn how to weld and craft something bespoke..... errrrr..... just like PTW What about camber of the wheels?? I imagine having the back wheels angled in would help with stability and gripping against the wind? - I am new to all this so feel free to tell me if that is wrong!! Thanks for all the advice...... I am new to all this, absoloutly buzzing about it tho - at the end of every session I can't wait to go out again!!! Good point about the perception of speed - without getting to obsessed with figures, at the end of the day, it is about having as much fun as poss

I have a PL folding buggy, about 8yrs old - just started using it.. I have had it up to 26.8mph and it starts to feel pretty twitchy, also 2inch trenches left by cars doing donuts almost bounce me out of my seat. I am not really into learning tricks, but I do like going fast!!! What features are good on a buggy for going fast? - and is there anything I can do to my buggy to make it more stable?

Cheers, I got the graze by trying to turn around, and.....errrr...not slowing down enough..... ended up going backwards a bit too fast and did a backflip outta the back of the buggy, promptly followed by the buggy flipping over ontop of me.......... all part of the learning curve huh!!! doing well this week, few days ago I got yanked out sideways and grazed my forearms being dragged along on my chest - doing your favourite loop kite back into power once u crash trick!!

I am just learning but managed to do a 180 today - obviously I didn't mean it - was just tryin to stop....... was not long before I did a back flip out of my buggy - followed by the buggy landing ontop of me got a lovely huge graze on my back now - salt flats are pretty hard!!!!

Well.... whaddya know!!! Been out today and put my power lines onto my handles a bit closer to the handle, and hey presto - I did not overtake my kite!! must of been inadvertantly putting permanent brakes on for last few flights! managed 26.5mph in a fairly light wind which is 4mph faster than when I last went out in a stronger wind! Better watch out when the wind picks up again!!!! I got a huge graze on my back today as it is!!

Cheers Simon, maybee too much brake.... I have been wondering for a while if my 'power lines' have stretched more than my brake lines.... that would be giving me too much brake, might fiddle with that next time I am out. On that - how do you know when it's time to replace lines??? Dave

I have just dusted off my peter lynn buggy (bought 8or9 years ago and used once) and have started using it properly now that I live 5mins off a salt flat (yeay me) Onlt have my kites (of same vintage but used alot more!) A Skytiger40 and a stacker10.... Used the stacker to learn the basics on (max'd out at 20.5mph which I was pleased with- dunno if that is good for a stacker10?) Yesterday I took out my Skytiger40 in a fairly blowy day and got scared lots (think thats the idea) but as I was getting around the 20mph mark (topped at 22.5) I seemed to start overtaking my kite, which put it level with me - so I had to put a turn in........ am I doing something wrong, or is it the vintage kites' limit???? P.s.... this is my first post... yeay!!!!

This is my first post ever..... hi all!! I have a skytiger 40 and a stacker 10, just dusted off the peter lynn buggy i bought 8or9 years ago!! (and only used a few times back then) I live a 5 min drive from a salt flat which, I have found, is pretty great for buggying!! It can get pretty windy out there so when I first went our, just used my stacker10, took my tiger out yesterday and struggled with it - doing around 20mph most of the time and I seemed to start overtaking my kite, am I doing something wrong? Got up to 20.5mph with my stacker10 on my 2nd day doing it - was pretty impressed/scared about that!!
