  1. Hmm wind looks scary today XC saying it is 36-47 mph at Crosby. Big arrows. I think i might hide under my duvet and hope it calms down a bit.
  2. I cant wait to get down there myself. Let us know how you get on at Marazion.
  3. I will be staying around Penzance for 3 weeks in August. Is there anywhere else around Penzance apart from Marazion where you can Kitesurf. I will certainly give Mexico Towans a look.
  4. Ive got Thursday off work and was thinking of going to Newborough tomorrow as it looks like the only place in the NW with any wind. Ive never been before, i am still learning, just about go upwind. Is anyone likely to be around to give me a launch? Also, anything i need to know about Newborough, like when is best time to go and rocks or obstructions or where you can actually kite?
  5. If you feel confident enough there is a 12m atom bladder on ebay for a Buy it now £89.00. But ive got alot of respect for kinetic. He did a great job on a repair for me. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FLEXIFOIL-BLADDER-KIT-LEADING-EDGE-A-B-C-ATOM-08-12m_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1688Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem3ef6759141QQitemZ270422872385QQptZUKQ5fSportingGoodsQ5fKitesQ5fKitesurfingQ5fCAQQsalenotsupported
  6. Apart from anything else. Flexifoil has the quality and is also British. Same as Gul. I dont think i would buy anything else. Unless they start making shit kites.
  7. I will be taking a trip down to ainsdale tomorrow i think. Ive filled in the paperwork and spoke to Gill in the office. What is the best time to get there? I am just starting out so need a hand launching and landing. Will there be anyone around to help out? Looks like the wind is going to be mental. 30mph Many thanks.
  8. My first time at Fleetwood today. Thanks to KiteingColin for advice earlier on this forum. I met some really friendly guys and i gotta say Alex at Hangtime is a true gentleman. It was my first time with my kites as well. I got a bit scared with my 12m Atom at the start with it being a bit lifty and hard work walking upwind on the beach. Dropped to a 9 but found it too low powered for me being a beginner i was unable to get up. Saying that, there was a guy who was flying a 5m with no problems. Had a break and just watched in awe at some of the kiters. Some jaw dropping tricks, everyone was having a great time. I learnt alot just watching. For example i watched as a guy adjsted the straps above the bar as he got out. My bar had these too but i was told when i had lessons, not to bother with them. I had a brainstorming session on the beach with my buddy and came to the conclusion that it adjusted the power and depower. We got the 12m back out and had a mess with the straps and sussed it out. The 12m scared the hell out of me in the morning but now i realised i could tame the beast with a pull on the red strap. First go in the water and i had a clean 60 meter run and i was flying. Unfortunately the tide was going out a bit too quickly so we had to pack up. Plus it was my wifes birthday today and she was giving me grief about leaving her all day. I feel like i have improved alot. Weather was great. My face is glowing from the sun when i got back to Crewe the missis said it had been pissing it down all day. Buzzin`
  9. Big thanks Colin. Sunday morning looks like its a goer. Saturday looks like high tide might be a bit late. Will let you know how i get on.
  10. I have only just got up on the board but havnt been for about 10 weeks. I have had 8 lessons but looking to advance pretty quickly in time for my 3 week break in cornwall in August.
  11. Thanks for the reply kiteingcolin. Im looking at XC and windguru for Sat/Sun and they both showing SW although bbc says NE. Its a bit of a trek for me but would love to check out the flat water. A long way to go if the wind is off. Was thinking of having a late session on sat then camping and getting up early on Sunday b4 high tide. I take it from reading earlier that 3 hours b4 high tide is the best time? Any suggestions?
  12. Can someone help me out plz. Was hoping to venture up to blackpool area this weekend. With the wind blowing south westerly where is the best place to go? I am learning and would love to check out this flat water mentioned earlier. Thanks.
  13. Was looking at getting in the water this weekend but it looks like the wind is offshore at blackpool according to xc? Am i mistaken or is there anywhere around blackpool that you can kitesurf with the wind south westerly?
