    Is there any evidence a knee brace is needed? My girlfriend has done her ACL and got operated on last week. The surgeon told her that she wouldn't need to use a knee brace to kite after it has healed and will be as strong as before. I told her I think she'll need one. I didn't (don't) believe him and wondered what anybody else's surgeon had said about it. When I questioned him, he said he'd tried kiting before as well so he knows the forces that are used.

    I've just bought one. Used it for three sessions. For bottom of the range it's a really nice suit. Standard gbs seams, not liquid sealed. You wouldn't know it was bottom of the range to look at it.

    I'm heading to Essaouira Morocco for a week on 16th August. It looks like it gets good wind. We're staying in a hostel for £5 a night!

    I use an Aquapac. I wouldn't use those keylocks for two reasons. One I've had the lock fail on one and two they are too easy to cut off with a hacksaw and rip open (I had to do this after the lock failed). Also kiting at Aberavon one day the pikeys cut one off a guys car and nicked it, a two year old Audi A4.

    We were on the water for 8 days out of 9. One 7m day, the rest 9m and 12m. Forecasts were spot on for direction but drivel for wind speed.

    I've just changed the depower rope. I went out last time and the front lines were too long today I've re tied it. Apart from a trial and error approach is there any way to know how long it should be?

    I have an Atom08. My bladder has gone twice in the same place that yours has. Once it went whilst blowing it up. I'd blown it up, flipped it over and it burst whilst I was undoing my lines!

    Has anyone been kiting in Sardinia? The Mrs has decided that she wants to go there on holiday and I wondered what areas you could kite in. I've found one website which says you can only kite on two beaches between June and September. Does anyone know if this is correct?

    My smallest is a 7. Although the least used in winter it comes out quite bit more than I expected before I bought it.

    I've got to agree with these guys. Bristol isn't too far away from beaches. There are also quite a few kiters here so there is often people to share lifts with. As well as north Devon you can hit Cornwall in just over 2 and a bit hours. I can be at Gwithian in just over 2 and a half hours.

    I can't believe people so many people aren't insured. I think it's irresponsible and if someone hit me, causing damage, I'd have no issue in making a claim. Saying "I'm too skint at the moment" to pay £30, when you spend hundreds of pounds on equipment, is ridiculous. Also not having insurance because you don't like the BKSA is a poor excuse too. I don't like the way the BKSA is run either but I pay my membership just for the insurance.

    I use av on my mac simply because whilst your mac may not be affected by a virus it can be a carrier i.e. if you send people emails and they use a windows machine it can affect their computer. I have never had a virus that affects my computer but when I have run scans I have had plenty of viruses on it (ones that would attack windows). I have two clamxav and iantivirus, both of which are free. Mac viruses require you to run programs for them to work. I would suggest setting up an admin account with the full administrators rights and then take away the administrator rights from your day to day account. That way every time you download a program you have to type the admins user name and password into a box. It will make you think about what you have downloaded. Plenty of people don't bother, I'd just rather err on the side of caution.

    You got an address or contact details for him? I take it that it's the guy I thought it was from the Facebook link? The car boot is in Hayle at the Rugby club on a Sunday morning and it runs throughout the year. Nothing on a Monday.
