    Gloves?

My sister and dad are looking for some gloves, I'd recommend them Mystic drygloves but I can't find them in stock anywhere at the right size. Anything as good as those about? Cheers.
  2. Anyone know what the minimum breaking strength for depower rope should be? Snapped mine last weekend and looking for a replacement. Cheers.
  3. Yeah I wouldn't worry too much, did you pay by credit card? If so you have more rights since the credit company has responsibility to. If you can't solve it through paypal/ebay phone the credit card company and ask them to do a 'chargeback'. You will recieve your money shortly, and an investigation will follow. Tis how I got money back after being ripped off on ebay.
  4. Cheers for the link Jim! Seems I got the problems close enough. Would people be interested in riding bindings (or something of the sort) that overcame these issues? Or do most riders like the freedom of straps?
  5. Yo! Would love some input on this: I'm reading up on bindings, and seems that the major reasons people don't use them so much for kitesurfing are ease of getting in/out, speed of getting in/out, hard crash when you wipeout, if one foot comes loose you can rip your acl. Any others? Would folk like to use bindings if these were a non-issue? Are people totally happy with straps, or are they a next best thing since bindings aren't really that suitable? Cheers!

    Problems?

Hey guys, I'm looking to spend my next year at uni designing a product around kitesurfing and could use some input. Could people post any (I mean any and every) problem they have to do with kitesurfing or equipment? Would really help me out! Cheers.

    car keys

I take my non chipped key and just stick it in a zip-lock bag in my harness (has a pocket). Got all the way to the beach and realised I only had my radio key. Didn't want to leave it on the beach so put it in a couple of bags and then my pocket and hoped for the best. Water got in Works sometimes now.
  11. Might sneak a wee sesh tomorrow, wind could pick up in the afternoon
  12. Can't remember the resort name French Alps somewhere, they got back monday so was probs peak season to make it worse.
  13. Some mates just got back from a ski resort in france, 12 euro pint!
  14. I don't think the beaches will become quieter, just everyone will keep their current gear.

    Carol Thatcher

She looks like she is stuck in the 80s to me. I agree sort of with the sentiment of this thread, PC has gone waaaaay too far. And @freefaller is Jock even meant to be offensive, never really heard it much, seems so pointless to ban its use.
  16. It's all gone here ;( Hoping for some more. Don't think I'll risk damage to my board, but could have some fun with a sledge
  17. Still better to learn and do it without the sandbag. What if you can't find an anchor etc when you come into land and don't know how to land without one. I've seen quite a few people fcuk up a self landing using other methods, never seen anyone have a problem with this one, and if you bring your own anchor you wan't have that problem I have tried the other method but might kite always seems to either bounce off the ground and back into the air or drift onto its wing tip and float up.
  18. The board get damaged at all? Pretty keen to try it, cept woke up this morning and someone nicked all the snow.
  19. **** THAT!!!! thats so sketchy. Never had a problem with it at all, kite just bounces up and down at the edge of the window with almost no power. It's the method in the kiteboarder handbook (http://www.theringmedia.com/PDFS/TheKiteboarder/TheKiteboarder_Handbook_07.pdf)
  20. Tugging the front line never seems to work for me, kite just bounces back up. I put in anchor into the beach, sit the kite at the edge of the window, fully depower and hook into the anchor, the kite just bounces up and down totally stable at the edge, I just ran and flip it onto its edge then. For launching the same, hook into the anchor, site the kite on its tip at the edge of the window, then go back to the bar and done. Demonstration - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NSaEYB1dI4c&feature=related Although I don't think I'd be comfortable using sandbags or a car.
  21. Was thinking of fuerte for april but don't think I'll bother after this, don't like offshore conditions at all! Any recommendations for alternatives?

Great attitude dude, best way to make sure everyone starting out in the sport gets the right idea of the community. Will defo be at hillhead then, will bring an 8 year old wipika, sound good?? You give people in this sport a bad name, you should be welcoming 'noobs'.

I'm niether! Product Design Engineer, doesn't really seem related but 3rd year at uni and realized I don't wanna design products, not consumer ones anyway. It's mostly an engineering degree, and Babcock don't seem to have a problem with it so *cross fingers* it won't be a problem in the future. It's to do with submarines, pretty much all they told me about it. You should also have a look at the DESG MOD website, applications just closed for this year but worth looking at for next!
