  1. handles it is! thanks for the advice Guys. just seems like it's just not designed to work with a bar and depower so why bother. Going to keep it now for those low wind sessions. Just got a strop for some harness action to save me arms. The last time I went out my arms ached for days!
  2. i'm not experienced enough for this beast, thought about setting it up with crossover and triple a for a depower but that would just ruin it I think, i need a depower not an express elevator!! proper awesome V8 muscle car lift with this thing, not for the faint hearted!! awesome in the 5-10mph range £250 includes brand new 25m lines and a Peter Lynn strop. No handles I'm afraid, need them back for my Beamer 4m which i am also selling hardly been used at all, used to belong to a Flexifoil employee who used it once, I bought it this year and have used it twice! cheers Jon
  3. thanks Guys... you could say i'm a bit of a tanker too, being 6"1 and 16 stone. i've found the perfect wind is about 8mph, 5 is too little and 10-15 a bit much. when the wind is consistent there is nothing like that grunt! it's like a V8 muscle car with shite handling! i need it on a nice depower bar with corssover and triple a though, on handles its a bit spazzy
  4. i'll swap ya for a 10.5m Blade 3
  5. 15 stone, so it needs to be a strong gust to lift me off the ground! 10-15 is perfect window for a 4m Beamer for me. However i find while boarding i have to move it around a hell of a lot, therefore now thinking of getting rid and getting a depower, like an 8m or 10m for that same wind window. But it could just be the ozone bar i have on it or the way i fly. i just bought a 16m cabrinha co2, not tried it yet but not sure of the window for that, will have to be trial and error and more research. Have a 10.5m Blade III too, ooooh that's evil but oh so addictive!! only tried it 3-8mph so far.
  6. thanks mate someones advised that too might have to seriously consider it.... that pull is addictive, just need to control it better than with just handles will definitely investigate the triple A and crossover more cheers S
  7. you're kidding right!? i bought a beamer 4m to learn on and foolishly went out when it was gusting to 23mph. kite was at zenith and it literally took me 8 ft into the air and i came down like a sack of spuds 20 ft down the field. from that day on a religious respect for wind and size of kite began! ps can't wait for my iPhone to arrive, you can get a wind meter app !!
  8. i've got it on 25m lines and handles at the moment. i don't know if it's just the wind strength i've tried it in but it just seems really sluggish to me. yes it pulls like a train but turning the thing, flippin heck! would 20m lines make it more responsive and easier to stay up in low winds? cheers S
  9. thanks for additional info Guys. I remember having to change pivot cups on my Gullwings a few years back! just remembered still got my BBC Jeff Phillips 1989, gonna pilpher some bits i think, especially the rubbers! the radsails board i have is a right heavy beast; entry level at best. a custom glass-fibre / kevlar board might have to be drawn up and given as a project for the Old Man! He has built 3 home-built planes so definitely has the kit! nice one chaps, you really got me thinking! what's the best shape to copy? cheers Singers
  10. that's exactly what happened to me! now i know what to expect, can prepare for it cheers Guys, great advice rgrds Singers
  11. cheers Martin, cheers Jon great help as ususal, if i remember i was stood up too straight, leaning too far forward, as i only got the wobbles when the gust died and the kite de-powered. need to learn how to beat and reach properly and use the power of the kite more to lean on. can't wait to try the Blade 10.5!! cheers Singers
  12. doing about 20mph i was getting the wobbles on my Board. had an instant flashback to 1988 when i had the same on my skateboard! sorted that with some new rubbers, will i need to do that on my radsails board?
  13. i have the same problem. Got a Beamer 4m and it just don't work well on a bar or in gusty winds. i've been looking at 10m ozone frenzy or access and 9.5m sabre. All depowerable. I've had a go on a 10m access when it was gusty and it was so smooth and controllable when my beamer was bouncing around all over the place. i'd say go depowerable mate, Flexifoil Sabre, Ozone Frenzy or Access.
