  1. gonne get me a 7&12m quiver
  2. any links to reviews/pictures would be appreciated! cheers!
  3. think the 5th line is pointless because relaunching a Ckite is a fair bit different than a bow. because of the bridles it will go on its back automatically when the wind catches a tip unlike Ckites (well not as easily at least) ^^
  4. guess i'll have to try a 13m for real to make my mind up. because I want to enjoy myself starting around 15-16knots (read: not constantly pumping)
  5. sorry to bring this old topic up but I'm interested in a quiver fuel 08's. I'm 65kg's and my boards are: -twintip 128x39 for freestyle (carved popper xt) (90-95% of the time) -5'11" waveboard (slingshot srt) use it 5-10% of the time (can't carry this along me with all the time, for example when I travel I never take it with me) -nobile skimboard also for lightwinds I was wondering what quiver I should go for?? I'm planning on keeping my 14m waroo '06 for the really light summer breezes, but whenever its 4-5bft (meaning when I can start doing real jumps and tricks I want to be on my fuels). Options would be: -7/9/13 the 13 depowers nice and should close in perfect on the 9. I'm just afraid it will be a little too slow for kiteloops etc. for size however I think it will be perfect for lowend (comparable to a 12bow). Is it slower than a 12m say... vegas or torch??? -7/11/15 the 15 will probably bore me and make my waroo useless. I don't think i'll have much benefit by buying such a big C-kite?? -7/9/11 will be one hell of a quiver for tricks, but I'll probably miss the lowend and I think the 9 and 11 will be very close! -> nice for kiteloops and tricks but i'll probably always think for damn I should have rigged the smaller of bigger size up so not get optimal use out of my kites because they are so close together?? am I making sense?? basically my biggest decision is between the 11 and 13m and then I should go for the 13m obviously because of the extra lowend I'm just scared it will be too slow for serious tricks.
  6. yer sux if you take it easy, chillin' with the mates etc and by the time u get back on for a second session the wind is gone... or: you're absolutely going for it, doing a 3hour session. U come off, take a shower and find the wind has just gotten even better but you're completely broken so no more surfing 4 yoo
  7. pretty tight short underneat. I don't like to have my thing dangling in all kinds of positions, tried it once without and I felt very uncomfortable :s
  8. people who fly their kite at Zenith more than anywhere else... HTFU! people that don't dare to go beyond a few hundred metres into the sea... HTFU!! no wonder the spots get too crowded
  9. ion2 in 5lines is sweet imo. I'd dare to say more radical than a torch3...
  10. Go for a bow or hybrid if you're starting out on the water just now Ckites offer more performance for the diehard wakestyle kiters ,but hybrids (like the ion and atom) offer an experience very close to it, but with all the advantages of bowkites (simple relaunch, extra lowend, extra highend, much depower on the fly) Pure bowkites usually lack a bit of punch in the turns (and only start generating the real power when they fly in a straight line) so u don't get as much power in kiteloops or transitions where u turn the kite a lot. I really can't think of a way to go through the pain to start out on an old Ckite anymore, newer Ckites offer good depower aswell but still lack the extra range on lowend and topend. I think you'll get most bang for the buck from a 1 or 2 kite hybrid-quiver. depending on the wind u want to go out on the water, I'd say take a 12-12.5 atom or ion2 to start out!! u can always add a 7-8meter later on for the high winds. I suspect u don't want an extreme lowend since u landboard?? a 12 flat kite will get u going nicely in about 14Knots. I started on a flysurfer speed 10m with little depower, could plane but rarely go upwind (after about 2 months practice). The wind was rarely fit for practise, always too much or too little. Bought myself a 9 and 14meter waroo and from the first ride I could plane upwind and I could go out in way higher winds without ever having trouble of not being able to stay on the beach because the wind had increased by a few knots etc. I've heard similar stories from people switching over to Bowkites from their C's. And most people that bought old Ckites for a few bucks can't get rid of them anymore and spend their money on bows a bit later anyhow.
  11. is it worth getting one of those huge-ass kites being 11stone?? I've got a 14m bow (waroo) and am switching down to a 12m bow on water. For landboarding the 14 pulls too much like a truck and whenever it flies steadily I find it too much of a handfull for landboarding (but then again I've only tried to landboard a few times, it's not really for me. rather wait for it to be more wind so i can rock on the water) The problem with those huge Ckites is u will only gain a few mph, and even at the lowend they will be very sensitive to lulls or riding a bit downwind toward them. Why not look at say a big foil?? it will stay up better in ultralightwind, and they don't blow to pieces when they fall out of the sky and hit sharp things leading edge first
  12. It is!!! (from my experiences with the 06 14m, the guys on the best forum say the new 13m replaces the 14m) I ride my 14meter '06 almost exclusively in the summer. Used it 5 times maximum september till now !!! but then again what do u define as light wind... I grab my surfboard and 9m 16kts and over. While best states u can hold it upto 24knots, it really is a HUGE kite! (feels and looks like a 16meter in the air) so I don't think its fun in 20knots (while still safe to get to shore for sure!). It has lots of grunt at 12-14knots, but it becomes sensitive to backstalling under 12knots. I think the 07 is less sensitive due to the rear V-bridle?? But then again the 10meter bullaroo starts really early, and I'd dare to say... get the 15meter and only use it for really light wind!! it will pull like a friggin' truck though if u want to landboard in 10knots go for the 13meter, if u want to kite in 10knots go for the 15meter!!
  13. I'd get it... could be stolen goods though
  14. Go for the 7 mate. The 07 waroos got extra gunt so it'll be more like an 8 and a 12. I got a mate that rides a mutant on 7 and 12 waroo 06 and I've never heard him complain eventhough he's a lot heavier than me. The 9 is too close!! (imho) and the 7 will allow u to go out in stormy weather. The 9meter is just too big of a kite in stormy weather (since its near a 12Ckite in terms of power)

    help

it's not just a mistake on the website... He phoned them up asking if it really was the correct price before he put down the money on the table. To me it sounds like there was a verbal agreement on the price !
  16. Looking at a motorbike too, but don't think I can buy new kites AND a motorcycle
  17. Hangtime is just as with any bow-shaped kite. Nothing exceptional. But I was mostly impressed by the handling of the kite on 5lines aswell as stability in bow-mode. Did u have a different experience then?? (and what kites are u coming from) I'm also interested in the lowend as I'm looking at going from a 14 waroo to a 12.5 ion as biggest kite. I dislike the big sizes that don't offer much lift and are rather slow to fly. Lets say I really only use the 14 in summer winds and whenever there's around 16knots I will be found on my 9m and surfboard!
  18. I currently fly 3 best waroos and got to test the kites last weekend. Wind: 25-30knots, was very powered up on my 9m waroo (only 60kg's and the waroo has rly good lowend, not so good highend) So I thought it was a good time to put the highend to the test: 10.5m Ion2 in Bridled mode. Had to use full depower on the beach, but could hold it half powered in the water. In bridled mode it flew pretty much exactly like my 9m waroo, with the exception that it was 10.5m so while it had same turning speed. It boosted me higher and had more hangtime. Also it was very stable all the time. I a few times going from full power to depower and letting my bar shoot out while the kite zoomed across the window in an attempt to get it inverted or loose its stability. I failed!! Also I have to note that it lacked a bit of drive through turns (like my waroo), wich was really wonderfull as I can send it agressively while waveriding. It's not that it doesn't pull at all, but most of the power only comes when it builds up airspeed in a straight line again. If u tested a bow before u will know what I mean Next up: the 8.5 Ion2 on 5lines, same conditions. Not used to flying 5line Ckites anymore. As far as depower goes, I pulled the depower strap a little as to not oversheet it but I could fly it nearly full power (on the water, had it depowered well on land too). The best comparison to 5line Ion2 would probably be a North Vegas or similar hidepower Ckite. It has really good depower abilities, it definitely doesn't fly like the typical Ckite of 2 years back! T he only thing I had to adapt to was the way the kite jumped. In bow mode u only gotta send it up and its like an elevator, in 5lines u gotta send it back (but it rewards u with a big yank), then up (for hangtime). Turning: god, this is why I wanted to switch back to Ckites for!!! The moment u turn it u get that instant drive, as if it turns on rails Kiteloops:Well I had to try it... and I have to say, the kite that mr. Hadlow loops in the Ion2 vid is no Fusion in disguise!! This kite yanks hard on 5lines. I came in real hot but steady, chickened out at the last second and threw my board behind me instead of keeping it in front of me!! Conclusion: this is the REAL hybrid! wanna fly Ckite with lots of depower? Wanna fly a bowkite because u like to waveride, ride skim or big waveboards, got gusty conditions?? AND always have very good safety! I can't comment on how easy it is to install the 5th line or remove the bridles as I just had to unwind a different bar and hook the kite up. I think having 2 bars would be ideal Negatives: -wow these new lines are really, really TINY!!! seems u could get a knot in them really easily if u don't watch out when packing them up. Not really a negative but it gave me a harder time getting them unwrapped. -No stopperball, could imagine missing this in summertime -Odd sizing, I just can't pick 3 sizes out of these!! I want the 6 and 12.5 so I don't know if I could do without the 10.5!! -Extensions are a bit of a pain, but I guess because its so easy to go on short lines the positive outweighs the negative. -The price... its flexi so it doesn't come cheap I know all the negatives are really small things, more like nittpicking but I just want to let the people that can't test them beforehand know some things that came to my attention! Hope u like my review eventhough I seem a bit stoked. I don't have budget to purchase new kites at the time but sooner or later I will get me some of these
  19. I really love everything about the Ion2 Concept!!!! except for: WHAT WERE THEY THINKING WHEN DECIDING THESE SIZES??? 6 - 8.5 - 10.5 - 12.5 - 14.5 seriously how am I to pick a 3kite quiver with no gaps??? I really need around a 7m for 40knots winds in Leucate and Tarifa -> no doubt I need the 6meter at 60kg's the next size in a 3 kite quiver would be the 10.5! I have a 5-9-14 quiver now and am buying different kites because the 5-9 (4sqm) is way too big a gap if I want to be powered in high winds... we are talking about 4.5 Sqm here... so I need the 8.5 and 10.5 aswell. But since I only like fast kites, I'm thinking about my biggest kite size being the 12.5meters! What do you guys think?? 6-8.5-12.5?? I really hate seeing such a big gap, and may have to go for a different brand altogether because of the sizing. I don't want to pay 4-5000euros for kites!! Sorry flexifoil, u shoulda made more sizes... we can't all buy entire quivers!!
