  1. Cheers for the help! Can't wait to get rid of that old setup...
  2. Cheers for the ideas - I like the idea of using the 07 Waroo bar as I'm planning to buy a waroo anyway so could kill two birds with one bar (err.. or something). Would be great to hear if anyone's tried it... or any other suggestions. Thanks again!
  3. I'm in need of some collective wisdom...I've had a sonic 06 for a while and although I like the kite, I'm not such a fan of the bar (never got the hang of adjusting that bloomin cleat thing on the move) - is there an alternative bar I can use which won't affect performance or safety? Any help gratefully received... Cheers!
  4. Cheers again!... Financial constraints mean I won't be going down the expensive outer shell route - will have to use the thin old snowboarding one I've been using for years together with a few layers plus balaclava, buff, helmet etc. I'll let you know how I get on... when the snow comes... :-(
  5. Cheers all - top advice as usual. Llike all the theory moomin... go on, ask me ANYTHING about heat loss... looking forward to putting the theory into practice. Cheers P.s. Whatever you do, avoid getting instantly teleported to the North Pole - it'll really screw you up apparently.
  6. I know the clothing thing's been pretty much done to death but I was just wondering what people wear in extra cold climates (e.g. Sweden). Admittedly shorts and a t-shirt might be appropriate given the soaring temperatures, but assuming things get really cold in the New Year... what do you guys wear in addition to the usual stuff (three layers, buff etc.) for when it's 20 or 30 below? Do you just slam on another mid-layer? Apologies if this is a damn-fool question, but the mind does tend to fixate on petty things when there's no snow around... Cheers P.s. I don't want to hear any talk of dogs balls Adrenalinepsycho.
  7. Sounds a bit strange to me, but who am I to argue with Swedish tradition... When in Rome... ;-)
  8. Actually, emmigration might be the cause of all these problems... having left the UK to come and live in Sweden PURELY to get some snowkite action (although if you ask me when my girlfriend's around, obvioulsy I'm here PURELY for her) I can only assume that I've jinxed the entire season. I'd like to offer all Europeans and particular the Swedes my heartfelt apologies. I promise I won't be buying a new kite anytime soon as then we'd have no snow AND no wind. Anyone know any cold climate versions of a rain dance?
  9. Just managed to open Boardhedz link and it is the same - sorry about that. Interesting what it says about SHORTENING the front lines a little in light wind.
  10. I know what you mean about the manual - I had the same problem... not overly impressed (seems like a strange area to cut costs). I posted a similar question on here a while ago and I got given a link to a pdf by Sean at airjam (http://www.airjam.co.uk). Not sure if it's still on there, but if not, I've got it saved and could e-mail it to you (might be the pdf link from Boardhedz but couldn't open it so don't know). Definitely helps. Cheers.
  11. Excellent! Cheers for the advice guys - helpful as always!
  12. Cheers - that's what I was thinking - just wanted to double check before I splash out. What about secondly? ;-)
  13. Right, after years of headbutting ice, I'm finally buying my first helmet and, as with so many things, don't know my arse from my elbow. I've got a good idea about what type I'm getting but... about size, how tight should the helmet fit and do you usually wear a beanie under it... a ridiculous question I know but... Cheers

    Packaging

Nope - just leave mine on - they fold down and fit in fine.

    Packaging

Definitely - can fit all my stuff in no worries but then I do travel pretty light... now if it was my girlfriend's stuff - reckon she might just squeeze in half her shoes and beauty products...
