  1. hi ppl:o quick question; has anyone kitesurfed in Gambia, or rather the coast of Gambia? I am out there, Kololi, for 2wks beginning of December:D :D and was wondering whether to take my kit.... any info greatly received:o
  2. stayed at seabreeze last June and had kitesurfing lessons there with a guy called Richard. Wind was off shore at the time but he has a rescue boat. Nice bloke. Beautiful accommodation even if the bath was waaaaay too small to stretch my aching limbs after baptism of fire!! Left there buzzin, even tho' i couldnt function properly for several days after! :D :D

  5. Hi all. I work with kids and they are expressing an interest in kites flying. I work for a local authority sports development unit and in instruct various sports. I have been flying for a few years and have just took up the sport of kitesurfing. Is there any basic courses for basic flying (land based) that i can take and also were can I locate these. I would rather the kids get taught properly rather than just go out and fly as and if. My aim would be to link into local community groups , secure funding as their is a lot out there to be had, purchase kit hopefully set up a local club and give these kids a chance. With working for a local authority i need things to be right, any info would be grateful. many thanks claire

  8. Good Morning Probaly wrong thread that Ive put this in but really need some info. Just checking the forcast for Blackpool Lytham checked 5 sites and each one has given me a different wind range and direction can anybody give me any upto date info one site showed 15mph others showed 35 mph with big red arrows. Being still new to this wonderful sport still at the stage of getting up on the board and going Im wanting to stay as safe as possible I relise the tide is probaly on its way out by now but was thinking of travelling down to practice on the beach all the safety stuff but dont want to get down there and not be able to fly or put myself or others in danger my smallest kite is a 6 m but im only small myself. Its a good 1 1/2 to get there so you will understand my why Im a bit apprehensive Cheers Claire
  9. Hi all Just thought Id pop in and say hi. And ask a few question? Firstly Ive done the lessons and am practicing hard and am nearly up and away on the board but finding info out on correct set ups of bars and lines and general reading is hard to find. Thank godness for forums like these. Before I go any further and I am new so the questions below might sound a bit dumb but any help would be grateful as safety is my main concern and the more i learn the better it is Firstly I am flying a takoon and find it really nice to handle and feel comfortable with it the only problem is im finding the depower line on the takoon bar is a little bit long(only a short arse and arms are strecthed to the limit) how do I adjust this to my required length. I do feel safe with it as it is, but could do with a little shorter if poss) Also Ive just purchased a 6 m cabrinha for when its a little windy for me can I use this bar with this kite or any other 4 line kite. i really do like the bars safety set and feel comfortable with it. Also is it personal choice to what size bar and lines you prefer to fly with or is it a case of a certain size to a certain kite etc. Mny thanks Bbramble NOw guys please be gentle i am a newbie and female with it.
