  1. @koma, I have been considering getting a new donkey dick but now im going to get up and do it before i end up 'somehow' unhooking apon launch and causing carnage i.e destroying one of the many north rebels flying hampton
  2. @ Exarch Every time my switchblade has unhooked was during lighter winds so i think its got something to do with sheeting in hard whilst and pushing the donkey askew causing it to pop out
  3. @Tempoe nah, I actually did it one windy sunday arvo at hampton beach about 2 weeks ago So how did this other kitesurfer get injured?
  4. @Exarch, sorry to here about your accident, yes chickenloops "mysteriously" undoing themselves at the most inconvenient of times is scary. Rest assured its not just the naish chicken loops, its happened to me a few times on my switchblade and once whilst launching haydenz kite causing it to swing into the window. So how exactly did your bar shoot up 3/4 the length of your lines? where did you have your leash attached to? best of luck. a recent kiting mishap has spelled the end of my season with a boken foot. take care So who's kiting in the hampton area?
  5. The general convention isn't usually to 'hire' kites out, so much as to 'demo' a kite you may be interested in buying, from what I know it is free but you are responsible for any damage sustained, talk to the local kiters and retailers and get an idea of what kite is right for you then demo them and make up your own mind.
  6. Head over to sHQ and demo their gear, good way to find something that suits you.
  7. Hi all, After much pondering i am still uncertain as to exactly what makes a hybrid kite, well, a hybrid kite! From my understanding it is a bow kite with the flying characteristics and safety setup of a C kite or the other way round. How is this done, Why is it used in preference over say a nice bow and how does it behave?

@Joel, if you're looking for a place to learn or just an eassy going spot etc... hampton is fantastic, lots of room, good in a southerly and even in prime conditions not too many kites down there. From my experiences at Hampton and Brighton, Brighton tends to be more crowded than hampton. @Koma, Oddly enough i haven't given St Kilda a shot at all, im probably not one to say but from asking some of my other mates I kite with atm about St Kilda, more nutters and show offs:eek:, and as you metioned it gets very crowded:mad:

    New to XK

Hi guys and girls, just wanting to introduce myself to XK after months of incessant reading of this forum about kitesurfing and just general discussion. About me: Keeno kitesurfer, started by doing my lessons with the Guys from SHQ pre-season, fully independent out on the water and loving it, decked out with equipment about one month ago, I live in the south eastern suburbs and frequent hampton/brighton beach. Recently progressed to jumping and having an awesome time. Anyone else in the local area that fly at hampton? this forum seems like one big friendly bunch and i hope to see some of you guys out on the water, or on land if thats your style:D:p
