  1. Hey guys, Thanks for the advice so far, much appreciated. With regards to some more specifics I am around 12.5/13 stone, the place I'm going to is the Cayman Islands if that helps as well. I've heard the winds there are 20-30 knots but could be completely wrong! I'll definitely give Blast a call see what kind of second had gear they have on offer, would be nice to buy a package from them if they can do lessons as well. Cheers!
  2. Hey guys, Bit of background, I used to kiteboard around 7/8 years ago (this was determined from looking at my last posts, can't believe I still have a login !) and did a little bit of kitesurfing as well. I got to the point where I was fairly decent on land and was a beginner on the water. I've recently got a new job which involves me moving to the Caribbean, to an island where kitesurfing is fairly popular, so thought I'd love to start it back up. The only reason I stopped in the first place is that everyone I knew that did it moved away and I had no one to go with haha! I'm basically looking for some advice for what kit to get, as well as recommendations for someone in the South West (I'm based in Bristol) who could provide a few kitesurfing lessons. When I used to do it before, I loved the freestyle side of the sport, given where I'm moving to is very flat (with few waves - very much like lagoons) it would make sense to kit specific for that. In terms of kit, I'd be keen to shell out on 2 to 3 kites, bar and lines, harness and board. In terms of budget, I'd be looking to go second hand (2012 onwards or so) and have around £1,000 (£1,500 absolute max) to spend. If anyone can recommend me the best kites and board to go for it would be much appreciated. Also, if you are based in the SW and fancy earning some extra money from kitesurfing lessons give me a shout! Thanks! Tom

  8. Trust me dude, theres no point investing less than 1k. By the time you set up with a decent stock broker (rougly £25 per account, then additional for every trade they make, as you cannot trade on the stock market by yourself). If you do make alot then you have to think about capital gains, tax etc. What I would do is set up an account with a group of friends, then each month put say £25 in each. After x amount of months, (whilst watching the stock market in that space of time) Invest in a company you are comfortable with. By doing this you will learn alot about how the stock market works, and will experience the highs and lows, and hopefully make a nice profit. Also, if you invest for a decent amount of time, twice a year for most companies, they will pay a dividend, which is sort of like a share of the profit. It won't be much if you are only investing £100 but its a nice litte extra Feel free to pm if you have any more questions Tom
  9. 100 is no where near enough mate, you definately need £1000 plus, unless you want to buy penny shares which is pointless. You are better off putting that money in a bank or betting it.....both of those will make you more than from shares haha
