Hey guys,
Bit of background, I used to kiteboard around 7/8 years ago (this was determined from looking at my last posts, can't believe I still have a login !) and did a little bit of kitesurfing as well. I got to the point where I was fairly decent on land and was a beginner on the water.
I've recently got a new job which involves me moving to the Caribbean, to an island where kitesurfing is fairly popular, so thought I'd love to start it back up. The only reason I stopped in the first place is that everyone I knew that did it moved away and I had no one to go with haha!
I'm basically looking for some advice for what kit to get, as well as recommendations for someone in the South West (I'm based in Bristol) who could provide a few kitesurfing lessons. When I used to do it before, I loved the freestyle side of the sport, given where I'm moving to is very flat (with few waves - very much like lagoons) it would make sense to kit specific for that.
In terms of kit, I'd be keen to shell out on 2 to 3 kites, bar and lines, harness and board. In terms of budget, I'd be looking to go second hand (2012 onwards or so) and have around £1,000 (£1,500 absolute max) to spend.
If anyone can recommend me the best kites and board to go for it would be much appreciated. Also, if you are based in the SW and fancy earning some extra money from kitesurfing lessons give me a shout!
Thanks!
Tom
