when the depower is on i can reach it easy but when it is of i cant reach the cleat so well. however the 5th line goes through the bar so i can get at the line easy and pull it towards me for more depower. or yank it towards me and outward to uncleat it and then let it out to power on. just like a cleat on a boat you dont need to have your hand next to the cleat to use it (with v type cleats you need to pull towards you and up to uncleat). hope this helps

iv put a sheatable 5th on my depower strap above the power buckel, its a small ronstan plastic cleat, as it is above the depower cleat 5th line tension is not affected when the debower strab is adjusted, the 5th then goes through the cleat, then the hole in the bar and through a shackle thats stiched and wipped on the chiken loop line (just above the cloop) a la 5th ellement (this way its a spinning system). been using it in som big sessions on my 11m in 28kns and had some use on the 15m, works so well. I did thred my 5th through some thicker line so it sits in the cleat better. (make sure the ends of the thick bit are tapperd in to the 5th to avoid snaging on the bar or shackel) when deployed as a safty.

sell your fancy cars, buy a crappy old one, with a old school key and buy lodsa nice new kites with the money made...... problem solved......LOL,

you can go from southsea beach (portsmouth east end) in a wind with anything with a south in it, low tide is best as the shore dump can be a pain in the arse/ imposable to get through when its windy. shingle beach with some sand at a very low tide. large flat riging area backed by a road with ample parking (free in the winter), normaly choppy. + a friendly crowd of locals, you cant miss them they all ride ss!

Had a geology field trip on the iow and had my 3.3 blade in my bag , fell in the sea, niped behind a bush and , wiped of me damp kegs and trousers and put on my waterproof trousers, got of the iow hovercraft at portsmouth twas blowing dogs off chains, launched on southsea common and got draged half the length of the common with my trousers round my knees doing the splits trying not to lose them altogether, never thought you could get grass stains on it!!

hi robeck the site seems to be working for me mabey they just fixed it. brian told me that he would send one down to my local shop (i kite at hayling) so ill just have a chat with one of the owners when i have done with my project, field work in france then my final exams and posibly a sailing event out in france. and only then can i get a kite down to test, so back to my original question anyone flown one if yes please post an unbiasd review good and bad points! lets stop ripn this new company give them a bit of breathing space, if their products are good and customer service is up to scratch and all the rest of the guff they will do well and get cheap kites to those who need them and ppl with more cash can buy what they want, hence you got loads of dough u buy a bmw you dont you buy a ford..... on the other hand they might be shoddy fly like a brick the company may treat the coustomers like cr*p, late deliverys etc etc then i hope they sink, go bust!! so unbiasd reviews any one? i dont mind waiting

Hi Ron its me Simon, My own kite company, LOL I wish but iv got to much on with my final year project and trying to go kite surfing without the hassle of running a company , nice play on words , ill see if I can get as cut on the profits!!! Karlum what does the kite fly like, is it equivalent to a 03 – 04 kite? 5th line? Ill get a test flight before I buy to make sure I suppose, as I heard about that XTC dude ripping ppl off. iv not posted much cos iv only been kitesurfing a while and dont have much to say of any use:o . I’m just a student looking for cheap kites the loan only stretches so far. If I had the cash it would be ss, naish or north all the way baby!! But I don’t and if I did buy some I would be sitting in cardboard box in my pants eating beans….. oh I already am!!

Hi , iv been trawling the net for weeks now looking for cheap kites and came across this kite brand www.karmack.co.uk their brand is new, and their kites build quality looks good. Well from their photos anyway, any one used one yet what if so what do you think? At that price im thinking of buying one to find out!!

I used to be a full time sailer and we went out when it was silly cold anyway being a big soft girl pants i found drysuits actualy kept me cold! simply due to swetting, it cant get out and gets cold quick, i have been sponserd and used many diffrent breathable dry suits and none of them worked that well! Dont know if kite surfers know about them but magic marine do a thermo suit, its made out of wetsuit material but only leeks a tiny bit but because its a wet suit you stay warm, it fits very lose like a drysuit so you wear thermals under it, my mate gets them from the US for about £50-70 but you can pick them up it the uk for £220 "Com on rip off Britan" http://www.wet-windy.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Drysuits___Undergarments___dinghy_sailing.html, Iv not worn one but have know of many tostey people who are stoked with them. i will be geting one when my steamer gives up the gohst.
