  1. I have just been told by a friend that when he tried to claim for lost luggage on his travel insurance, he was told that he should go through his home insurance policy first. he was covered, and did get paid out. i have just checked mine, and i am covered upto £1000 per item. Might be worth keeping this in mind, as no point in paying for cover twice (insurance companies take enough of our money already! ).
  2. Hows things Rob, hope all's good. Just booked for a couple of weeks in Kenya , cant wait to dip my bones in that bath water ocean, playing with the trade winds
  3. Thanks for both the links, will check them out (The devil is in the Detail )
  4. Pilchards anybody? They must be cooked by now!
  5. Can anybody provide a name for a good insurance company that will cover to cost of replacement kitesurfing equipement. My usual insurance company limits the total claim to £1500, and a maximum of £300 per item. And I can not upgrade it at all to cover the real cost of new kit should the worst happen and it disapears on route.
  6. Galu Beach is nicer...Been 3 times. www.kiteafrica.com plus you get to stay in an eco resort with bush babies and colubus monkeys playing on your balcony... Booked for Kenya , along the Bamburi Beach. Our hotel is a mile away from the kite school link you posted (can wait to kitesurf just in shorts again ). Never know I might even pop out and see if i can spot some wildlife, only on a low wind day of course .
  7. We are a bit of the Country Bagger type , although am tempted by Sharm el Shiek as I went to Hurgurda last time I went Egypt. Think we will probably end up going to Kenya, as Nyali beach looks wicked
  8. Does Blackpool have crystal clear bath water temp sea now then?
  9. cabarete would be nice as I fly EH Rippehrs and would be nice to take them home (Even though they a prob made in China ). I think the main Kitebeach is a bit of a travel to get to from where the main hotels are based though.
  10. Wow Thanks for all the ideas ppl. Check out some of them right now.
  11. Can anybody give me an idea where might be a good place for a family holiday destination that allows me to kitesurf. My wife has been looking for a few weeks now, and we cant settle on anywhere. As either the winds are not great at this time of year, or the hotel/apartment is to far away from the beach, or there is no registered kite school / shop to source local knowledge from, and to store my gear at. My wife and kids are happy just laying on a beach or around the pool all day. I am a fairly competant kiteboarder, but would like to know that other people are around kiteboarding for safety. And also that I am not going to break any local laws / rules. I have been to Eygpt & St lucia kiteboarding so dont really want to return there, as we like to see different places. Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated.
