mooney flyer Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Had a fly with my new 2nd hand Psycho 3 13m on sunday in sub 7kt winds and I wasnt dissapointed. This kite just doesn't want to fall out of the sky, I was even getting some fairly big jumps on it, and i'm around 14 stone with a board that's not exactly the lightest, allthough bullet proof. The new Psycho 4 is going to be very hard to beat I should imagine. I defo have a new love in my life, P3! Quote
andrewjohn Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 Mooney, How does it compare (not just low wind ability) to the 13m Extacy? Quote
Mini Michael Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 I had a go on my mates 8m Psycho 3 in very low wind. Absolutely loved it. Got me going fine however i am a very lightweight person Quote
Angry Nugget Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Angry Nugget, watch out for the safety. The 03 Frenzy was a b*gger when it was powered up and you needed to get outta jail! My girlfriend was once pulled down a beach with a 7m 03 Frenzy with the safety released, and it still had enough power to pull her (her hands digging into the sand to get purchase) downwind. My 5m used to scare the **** out of me when I yanked the safety after a buggy incident in 35mph .. so just be careful! Anyway .. low wind kites? Love my 16m V2, but I've NEVER EVER beaten a Mac Bego 6m .. it gets going in about 3-4mph, I've been boarding on grass in 5mph and over 7mph it's MENTAL. Love it. Had it out in about 12mph winds yesterday, and if it caught a gust it certainly had some power! Still getting used to it! Pulled the chicken loop safety to make sure it worked, and get an idea of what effect it would have, and even in the light wind it nearly took my arm out it's socket when the bungie to my wrist kicked in! BGP Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Another vote for a BIV 8.5 - will get you going in nearly nothing on tarmac, on good grass from about 7mph up for just cruising. Quote
Afro1599968737 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 9m haka has been best so far, i'd imagine its similar to the big blades Quote
marman Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 8.5 biv A car, a tow rope and skimboard seemed to outperform it pretty well Quote
