And what will be there for non-youth kiter? Yep sorry my mistake, should have been in the buggy section. (Sorry Craig, Sy ) Landkite team as billed, so used to writing land board. The date is the 14th June. Kite wise apart from the demo not much it is aimed at teenagers and families. If you are local I am sure it will worth popping in as its not a bad place to fly. Quote

There are various large open spaces due to the nature of the development. Some rough and a bit hilly ( by comparison for the area ) which seem to be the most popular with visiting land boarders and static flyers. There is also a whole set of playing fields side by side so potentially massive. We are here- ( if this link doesnt work go to streetmap CB23 6FY) http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=532272&y=259773&z=0&sv=cb236fy&st=2&pc=cb23+6fy&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf Quote
Sylenz Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Looking forward to coming down for this one. Will have a go at landboarding purely for entertainment value but Lewis Wilby i aint! Quote
Tjah1087 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 may catch the bus over from cambridge (if there is one) as I will have finished exams by then. would I be allowed to board there on the demo day? Quote
Hopewell Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I think that the bus you are after is the 14 from Drummer street! Failing that the X5 heads that way, although I am not sure if it actually stops there! Quote

Yep number 14 stops here. I think Flexi are sending some kites as well for people to have a go on at some stage so Joe public will potentially be flying. I can't really say if it will be appropriate for you to board on the day but it will give you a chance for a recce. Quote
Tjah1087 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Sounds good. I may not be fit for proper flying by then due to injury anyway, but will be a good day out I hope. Quote
Angry Nugget Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Might have to pop over for that and pick up some tips! Quote
Craig Sparkes Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 We are bringing some kites down so the Public will be able to have a try aslong as it is all cleared by the event. Quote

Tjah1087 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 What time is it on? Just realised have to be somewhere but I would like to pop along. Quote
Craig Sparkes Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Hi Dude, think we arriving about 10.30ish? till late afternoon/evening If wind is good then we will fly till end evan after others have gone etc... aslong as we are allowed. Quote
Ewanofotter Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 JH the team will be there for the kick off at 11 from what I understand, unless Craig or Sy say otherwise. They may have to hang around for the right weather, it is pretty strange over here we are quite high up for Cambridgeshire so we can get some serious wind or it is dead flat. There will be other stuff to do anyways. Hope to see you there. David Quote

Ewanofotter Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssssssse. Let the weather be like this tommorow. Looks like a perfect day to fly. Quote
Tjah1087 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Turned up and couldn't see any kites. Wind was a bit on and off, but would have been ok for a cruise, more than the forecast. Was the kiting bit cancelled then? Quote
Craig Sparkes Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 What can i say, apart from Very sorry to the event organizers and anybody who traveled down to it. For some strange reason on all our calenders etc.... we had it down as the Sunday, and did not check the date against the day. Myself & Sy turned up Sunday and thought it a little odd how quiet the place was, no signs, nothing. Finally we found the site to find David some what surprised to see us!! We can not apologise enough, but have said that we are more than happy to go and just do a kite sports day there for any who missed out on Saturday. Sorry to any who traveled down to the event especially, we were guttered to find it had been the day previous! Quote

Date for the diary ,….Saturday 27 June 2009 next Fest. I will also look at setting up a kite day in the Summer. It is a cracking site and I think that only made it worse for Craig and Sy who were genuinely gutted that this had happened. Quote
