I run it in the winter when the beach is wet works a treat will find some pics and post up later Quote

I have a stanard barrow wheels all round and would love to know if anyone has got one. Is the front end of a RS the same as a libra? When I bought my RS I was told it was a copy of the Libre Special. Its a modifyed version of the one I made for my V-flex two a few years back, but nobody was intersted when i tryed to sell them so I never made any more molds for the narrower gaurds. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e25/Maverick440/DSC00016.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e25/Maverick440/DSC00015.jpg The front end of the RS is diffrent from the Libre in that is designed around the Midi tyre as opposed to the normal Barrow tyre. This gives a wider fork, so a normal guard wont fit. (also the fork legs are longer) Quote
daveyd Posted April 1, 2008 Report Posted April 1, 2008 I,ve just discovered that I,ve owned an RS for about 3 years (I think) Check Photos. The Bloke I bought it off never knew what it was. It must be about 5 years old (Are RS this old ??) Its morphed into a Libre lookalike over the years - its got Mavericks old forks and Swan neck fitted a libre seat and rear axle. Its a bit like Triggers brush - only the side rails to swap now. It does have 2 modes though - barrow with original rear axle and forks and Bigfoot lights - wider rear axle and front forks. The only issue I had was the seat was a bit crappy but for the price you carn't complane. I wore it out so had to replace it with a used libre one. Good to know the buggys origin as I,ve been puddled as to who built it, I knew it wasnt Libre and the quality was too good for it to be homemade. I posted here when I first got it but nobody could ID it. Could you guess the year of manufacture ? If anyone fancys starting a RS musium I,ve still got all the original Parts !! Quote

I remember driving back up the M6 after just selling my Dragster (no not libre) thinking Ill order a V-flex now...............LOL Quote

What is the benefit of the Swan Neck and what is the benefit of the wider axle? I used to kite a lot but have been out of the game for a couple of years. gavw Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Basically the wider axle adds greater stabilty to the buggy making it into a cruiser rather than a frrestyle buggy. The swan neck lowers the buggies centre of gravity and again helps with stability. However in standard form the RS is a great buggy Swan necks , deli midis and varying axles are really down to your personal preferences. I would recommend a back rest as this improves comfort no end -hope this helps As has been said on here many times the RS is a great buggy for the price Quote

I've just bought a Rage 4.7 off eBay and was trying to find a good buggy to learn and cruise about in. I'm not really looking for a trick buggy, rather a cruiser, so what would you say would give me the best band for the buck? An RS standard with a 1.5m axle? thedogsbollox Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 i got mine with the deli minis and find them a good all rounder(grass and beach). didn't bother with the swanny tho. Standard Axle is good for just cruising. Long axle will be if you wanna push it a bit and if you can transport it ok. On the standard axle i was able to put the buggy, minus the rear wheels, inside my vectra estate. If you can afford it go the whole hog, you will be getting good value for your money but if not then the only thing i would recommend is the midi's. hope that helps. Tony Quote

Figured that might be the best mix for the price. The 1,50 would make it very tough to transport in my Peugot 306! What are your thoughts? Apparently I will have it sometime during the week 14-18th.
