You need 35 degree deck to run on channels to start off.

Channel trucks are heavier, but are less prone to speed wobble and give the board more of a carvy feel. Skate trucks are lighter, can get wobbly and the turning is more on/off depending on the bushings used.

Flexdeck as in flexifoil asymetric deck? That has 15 degree kicker rather than 35 so you cant really use channels.

Vectors can be mounted on 15 degrees though and they are sort of half way between channel and skate.

You have the "degree" of the board which is either 35o or 15o - it is the angle of the ends of the board.

Skate trucks go on 15o and channel trucks go on 35o

Channels are heavier than skate trucks but are more stable.

Vectors are half way between and fit on both, although I saw them on a 15o board recently and they didn't have alot of movement in them? There are also revo's and bionics which I don't know much about.

Although you haven't asked - for anyone else trying to get their head around boards - "ply" is the thickness of the board - normall between about 11 and 17 depending on your pie consumption (I ride 17ply cause I is a pie eater!)
