sam_kitesurf Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 Hey people, Is it possible to kitesurf at Knott-End? (near Fleetwood) I know its a good spot for landboarding when the tide is out, but I want to know if it's possible to kitesurf there? I have never seen anyone kitesurf there and wanted to know if there is any reason for this? Cheers, Sam Quote
kiteingcolin Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 you can go from the sand over the wall near the road, but why? you would only get a short time out as the water takes ages to get that high, and it is so shallow it would be out again by the time you landed your first jump, but on the good side the place will be yours, no one ever uses it! and the knot end cafe is very good, Quote
kinny Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 dunno went up there once last year and there were about 10 on the water, although they were having to come in as we were just getting set up, anyone heading up there tmrw for a landboarding session? Quote

JohnDave Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 Phone Alex at Hangtime Kite Shop, he knows all about it as it's right near his shop. Quote
Rossall Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 its OK but very tidal and you don't get long. West to NW is ok. Back of the docks is also ok if you know what your doing, very sketchy launch from a errr private road so you have to be stealth and quick, not for the faint hearted though as theres ship wrecks and lumps of rock etc all over the place. Good when you get out though but watch out for the 5 kt rip.! Quote
