daZZa-S Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Haven't been on for a while due to wind http://www.hangtimer.com/ If it's a re-post then personally don't give a **** ... life too short:rolleyes: Quote
The Geoff Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 REPOST!!! (My first catch ) It won't work for kiting - it measures time in zero-g, and you're not under zero-g when jumping with a kite unless you're in big trouble Quote
daZZa-S Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 REPOST!!! (My first catch ) For that you get a sad b@$tard sticker that I will personally send to you myself It won't work for kiting - it measures time in zero-g, and you're not under zero-g when jumping with a kite unless you're in big trouble Where does it say about Zero G?? As it says "even if you just toss it (and yourself) in the air" Quote
faster4_tec Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 but it will be relying on a harsh landing, or at least a spike in the unit velocity to figure out when to stop. fine if you like breaking your legs on landings, but HUUUAGEEE floaty jumps that end in a super smooth soft landing aren't gonna register, it will just keep counting. kitefreek Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 just kiteloop on the way down. should land hard enough Quote

The Geoff Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 But here's the point: the ONLY defining feature of being in the air, as opposed to going down a very steep hill, is that you are in zero-g. It wouldn't work for a kiter in the same way that it wouldn't work for a trapeze artist (except briefly at the top of each swing) or an abseiler. You've got support from above, so you're not going to be in zero-g. What we need is a laser altimeter (ideally tied into a GPS system) Or some kind of switch on the board/buggy's wheels that can tell you when the pressure is on/off. Mylar might be the stuff to use.
