Yesterday I was talking to someone 'in the know' and they revealed some interesting news about Wallop this year. Apparently we haven't got permission to fly there this year BUT they have managed to secure another site.

Wallop will be on at Dunsfold Airport. Lots of open space and it's 99% secured for the May bank holiday weekend. Only problem is that Top Gear are filming there on the Saturday morning, so we can camp but not fly at this point in time. Flying can commence after they have filmed whatever they are shooting. The 'person in the know' has been told that Top Gear will need a small crowd of people to be an audience to an outside feature and will use willing people on the site- woo that means us!

So no doubt all you car obsessed boys will be happy with this. You will get to see Top Gear being filmed, watch nice fast cars AND you can kite afterwards! As for the girls... well I think we all know where the attraction with Top Gear lies ;)

Edit: Maybe I should have put this in the Meets section.

Hmm, Wallop just won't be wallop without being at wallop, but watching top gear would be cool. Who knows, maybe we can convince them to feature kiting in the program, some form of challenge like they did with Leo Houlding in France (the climbing episode).

Hey, at the end of the day, a festival is a festival! I wonder if not getting permission is a result of the littering last year? Or just general other factors. Ta for the info Lou, don't suppose they said when tickets were out as well did they? lol

Thats just because you're a wuss craig! ;) The racers will love it, and there's still a big load of the green stuff for the freestylers and boarders. Anybdy know if they've got the licence sorted then for the beer tent?

You could ask them to do a race Buggy and Kite vs Car!!!

Then kiting will get featured in the program!

That much tarmac ummm................. Could be deadly.

@Lou, How come of admin of the BPKA say that wallop is on, but don't say anything about location change?

You have to quote all the ones that believed, otherwise they will delete their posts :)
