floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I recently upgraded my board from a scrub demonos to an Ejector. have ridden it quite a bit now but find the the straps dont hold my feet as well as the ones on my old board. i have tried different shoes with out any change. wonderd if anyone had any tips or should i just change them. went on a mbs core 8 the other day and loved the straps on that .so what to do should i buy a set of the f2's or can i do something with the scrub ones so the hold my feet tighter ? Quote
elmarko99 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 get heel straps. mbs make a set for 15 quid that fit any board. i use them with my f3's and they're greeeeat Quote
floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 how are they to get out of ? as im still a bit wobbly on my board been riding less than a year. and still have to bail out quite a bit Quote
KiteDeck Dan Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 get heel straps. mbs make a set for 15 quid that fit any board. i use them with my f3's and they're greeeeat cant see this being a good idear for kite flying but personal pref. i spose i find f3's fine on ther own thay make the board stick to you but the slight kick and there off if you dont clamp you feet down always a good to now that the board will come off when you wont it to f2's are good too, cheap as well Quote
floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 oki, if i dont get the scrub ones sorted i guess il just have put my hand in my pocket again Quote
Gomas Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Probs a stupid question, but have you tried all the settings on the scrub bindings? i have mine set to the widest width, and they hold alright. But then i use size 10 skate shoes, maybe thats what you need, a pair of big phat trainers. Quote
Bertie Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 i find smaller shoes work better. i had some fat reefs and they were rubbish, but got thinner shoes and they hold better Quote
floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 yep have tried all the settings got them at the widest to even tried changing the angles by using middle hole and farthest in the bracket but no luck. have also tried walking boots but my feet were killing me after an hour or tried trainers the seem to work best but if i jump the bord to turn it my feet still slip out i think it might be cos there so stiff maybe i should sling them in the washing machine to see if it soffens them up a bit Quote
RossRobObey Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Ahh, I didn't think of that. I have the same problem as you, but with Kheo bindings, If you put them in the wash, could you tell me how it turns out? Quote
Bertie Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 they go stiffer in the wash dont they? Quote
RossRobObey Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 With a bit of fabric conditioner I would have thought they'd go softer ... or at so my mum tells me Quote
floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 got nothing yo lose will keep you posted Quote
elmarko99 Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 how are they to get out of ? as im still a bit wobbly on my board been riding less than a year. and still have to bail out quite a bit they are hard to get out of. i suppose that is the idea really! i would not recommend them to a beginner. it took me ages to get used to not being able to just kick the board off. but once you get used to it they are great. because you are so firmly locked in you can turn sharper and spin without any worry of losing your board. but at the end of the day it's just a personal preference i suppsoe. floating on air Posted March 28, 2007 Author Report Posted March 28, 2007 maybe once im more at ease on the board ill give them a try Quote
faster4_tec Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 ideally you need skate shoes, or something with a wide, nearly flat on top toe/box section at teh front, otherwise you just get pushed out of them all the time. also try screwing them down a bit, so they bite into the top of your foot (forgot name of that tenden) rather than the sides. I found the bindings on ejectors VERY nice, and if you do get rid of them, I will be the first in line please:D Quote
