skreamz Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 I recently bought a closed-cell foil kite for land and water use. It is quite old and the material no longer holds air for as long as it should, which makes it a must that I don't dunk it in the water. Is there a coating for kites out there anywhere ? Something to spray on to the material ? Or something to add to a bath of water and leave the kite to soak ? Anything along those lines at all ? Be glad to hear your opinions on this Quote
flyer_gaz Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Have heard loads of people using fabsil, available at any good camping shop - not heard of any disasters after using it - but ask around:) Quote
faster4_tec Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 yer, fabsil aerosol stuff works OK, well for cheap tents, fancy silicone coated triple ti fabricy jobs need something more complex but.... I've found with fabsil it will make whatever you've sprayed it on bead water more readily, but not really stopping the water getting thru. Quote
Steiner Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 This stuff is the muts nuts, will be using it on my Venoms shortly. See it here......... http://community.tractionkiting.co.uk/index.php?topic=1669.0 Cheers Quote
