Steve1599968621 Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 As I said on GRAW2 thread, I got GRAW2 yesterday and loving it, it's fantastic, but also picked up Lost Planet 2nd hand (I traded a couple of 360 games and some old PSP games). How do you guys find Lost Planet? One of the games I traded was Dead Rising, as much as I love the idea of being 'in' a Romero film, the controls were sluggish and horrid and the the animation of the main character very slow and unrepsonsive, and the lack of saves was annoying. And this is exactly what I've come across in Lost Planet so far, another Capcom game. They look awesome, but compared to the controls of say Gears, GRAW or Crackdown, feel very limited and clunky. I'd rather it looked like a dog and played like a dream, than the other way round. I'll give it time though... Quote

Mind you I played Lost Planet first then GOW so it really does depend on what you are used to I suppose as I found it weird going from Lost Planet to GOW. You can do sh!t loads on it mate. Just let me know when you are gonna be on with it and I will show you what stuff you can do if I can remember as I haven't played it for a while. You may not like it though if you loved GOW tbo. Dan Wilson Posted March 24, 2007 Author Report Posted March 24, 2007 Anyone have a rough idea when Halo3 is released as play.com have them for preorder and say its next month but on the xbox site it says tbd. Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Dunno about Halo 3 - I've seen release dates of April 07, May 07 and Oct 07 so far! And Amazon have had it available for pre order since December! Mass Effect looks good! I'm chuffed though, just got my 'Survive 250,000' achievement on Geometry Wars! Thought I was going to get the Mad Catz (9 lives) one too as I got to 7 lives. Then got all axcited and lost concentration and lost em all very very quickly. I hate them tiny blue 3 spoked ones. ****ing millions of 'em come out of all 4 corners, too many to shoot through!!!! Quote
Dan Wilson Posted March 24, 2007 Author Report Posted March 24, 2007 I highly doubt it'll be out next month (i wish it was) as the multiplayer beta hasnt been activated on crackdown yet, i bet its released at end of the year Quote
Disco_Bison Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Geometry Wars seems to have a 10 second rule, if you lose a life later in the game, then you will lose another within 10 seconds, it always seems to happen to me Quote
Big Gaz Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Halo 3 is released 16th November according to play.com Quote
marman Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 out of interest what size? type? of TV are people Xboxing on Quote
Dan Wilson Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 Im using a 17'' flat screen monitor Quote
marman Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Im using a 17'' flat screen monitor i got a 19" TFT, Is it to play on this, cable wise what do/can i buy Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I play on a 19" TFT monitor too. You have to buy a VGA cable (about £20 for the official one, but can get them third party for about £12). You then have to have an amplifier/sound system that can accept red and white phono connectors. My Pc amp didn't so I had to buy a new one - not many seem to accept phono input - usually a jack. marman Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 i dont have the sound require ment oh wells cheers (quality still ok on tft?) Quote
Dan Wilson Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 You'll need a vga cable for the xbox or buy a vga adaptor, my 360 is next to my pc so i just change the cables over depending on what im using also share the same speakers. Picture quality is really good i think it'l almost be like HD. Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 i dont have the sound require ment oh wells cheers (quality still ok on tft?) Yeah quality as good as any HD tv - you get to choose from VGA resolutions rather than 720p/1080i, etc for the output. Biggest downside for me is that it's not widescreen. But hoping to resolve that shortly. Quote
geforce Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 a 19" samsung syncmaster widescreen moniter/tv with HD 720p Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Geometry Wars seems to have a 10 second rule, if you lose a life later in the game, then you will lose another within 10 seconds, it always seems to happen to me That happens to me too - once you start losing it doesn't seem to stop! I put it down to a break in concentration - you have to be so focused and in the zone in that game, one distraction and you've had it. Quote
MiDnight Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I'm on a 32" HD lcd running on 1080i,and with sony 5.1 surround system and mordaunt short ms207 floorstading speakers running though a rega mira amp,and boy does it sound and look nice:D :D no i'm not telling you where i live:D Quote
