jamesnaishuk Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 you know probably one of the reasons for redoing his site and showcasing him as person is that there has been so much stuff about how Ruben is amazing and much better and all the other riders that have a wacky sense of humor and do stupid stuff for the camera, that everyone forgets that the guy has nothing left to prove to his peers or any member of the public as far as his abilities go. he has grown up in a fairly different way of life to most, has seen more of the world and got more life experiences in his short life than many will ever manage and that will have shaped him as a person. doesnt make him any less of an indevidual than anyone else, and Pieguy if the situation was reversed how much respect should he have for you.. Surely you can only judge someone's character if you know them or have met them. Until that point most of us can only respect his skills and sheer balls for riding against the best in the world. doc Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 agreed the clip is hamfisted - trying to be summat he eveidently isn't - the lingo just doesn't seem to be the natural thing to say -but he's not a pro actor for goodness sake. I would say that he looks well down meself judging on appearances. We live in such an age when peeps are judged by the first 10 seconds of what they say. We also tend to put people on a pedastal to high and then spend the rest of the time just taking pot shots at them and bringing them down as low as we can England football managers and Prime ministers spring to mind. Sadly, it seems its No different with other high profile individuals as well. Still the kiting speaks for itself and that's as it should be. Should be an epic site when launched. Quote

(As James said before) he's a bit like Shaun White in the skate / snowboard world, has grown up in the sport and has travelled with it and his family and come out as what seems a nice bloke. I am not sure about all the kitesurfing maths tho... "len10', "+lo" - whats that all about? Quote
