Did you plug it in and wait for it to ask for something before loading the drivers/software....

 

 

....Or did you do all the loading first as some bits of peripheral kit need that??

I had a nightare getting the wifes Zen V connected to the computer. Until I figured out that the machine has to be running windows XP, with service pack 2 installed.

 

If that's not an option, then use the Creative Explorer - this little bit of software makes your Zen V appear as another removable drive, and you can access it through explorer.

how can i get the creative explorer up/ download it?

The creative explorer software should be on the CD, or you could try the creative website. I know that pretty much everything that comes on the CD is also available to download from their support site.
