yes i do its a bloody nightmare itunes effectivly copyright your music for you making it difficult to change them back .what you have to do is plug in ipod to pc ,then go to my computer select the ipod ,when you have done that go to tools ,folder options ,then show all files then ave a look in the ipod you should then find your files .copy them back to the hdd then you can do what you like with them ,also itunes sometimes renames them for you so you might have to play them to see what songs they are .

if your question means "i have chosen aac as the format to import my files in Itunes preferences (advanced section under Import), now i want to convert them to mp3" then what I've done is:

- Go back into Itunes Preferences / Advanced / Import and change to MP3 on the "Import Using" section

- Close the preferences window

- In your music library right click on a tune you have previously imported. You'll see a new option come up called "Convert to MP3" - this happens whenever the tune's current format is different to your current default

- Select this option and it will go and convert it. You'll then have 2 copies of the file in your library, so if you want to save space you delete the AAC version.

You can do more than one track at the same time by selecting them all before right clicking

You can't do this with music purchased on the Itunes store, only with stuff you've imported

Cheers
