Holsten Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Ye i spoke to a guy a few weeks back that flys Moat Park. I come from Folkestone so Littlestone, Greatstone, Camber are some good flying spots. Quote
evoman76 Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Quite a few people fly at Mote Park, best palce to park is behind the leisure center and then there are 2 big fields where most people fly Quote
Lofty Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 HI Natway , i live in Maidstone so..... Mote park is ok but can get busy in the summer , watch out for ratty little chavs on quad bikes and dirt bikes though ! ( and the cops chasing them in landrovers ! ) Best wind direction is an Easterly or South easterly , anything else is very lumpy and turbulent due to the surrounding trees and valley . YOu will be ok with fixed power in the lumpy stuff , forget depowerables in a westerly or northerly , the turbulence chews them up and spits them out , arcs included ! Your best bet would be to hit the kent coast as a first choice . Take a look at flying sites on the SEKA website , all the information you need is there . Mote park is handy for an after work blat if you have the patience to ride the gusty stuff . Quote
brendan baker1599968663 Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 as said, mote park behind the leisure centre is best, all footbal and rugby posts have now been removed for summer so loads of room. wind can b a little awkward, but i fly the jojo rm there and have seen many other race kites flying there with no problems of collapsing.
