enterusername Posted July 2, 2006 Author Report Posted July 2, 2006 whip out the x box Eh i kinda swapped it for ur 17m strike, which is good in low winds jus not quite this low!! frisbie isnt very good as a one man sport lol most my mates r either workin or on hols. dont have a car to modify, but might build a wake skate or skim board for wen the wind comes Quote
paulie_amoose Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Went to South Wales today in the hope of sea breeze, which did materialise but was too weak. Some nice bikini clad honey's on the beach though... *Semi... * Quote
wenglish Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 which beach did you get to paulie? i was atr abber, the wind picked up for about 20 mins and then nothing so i watched some ppl get baptised in the sea. Quote
Fairy Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Went to oxwich in the hope of a sea breeze but it didn't appear... :-(...Got a nice suntan on the beach instead.....:-) Quote

paulie_amoose Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I was on Ogmore, Not the best beach but I kinda knew I wasn't gonna happen. Like you said the wind picked up for about 20mins cross shore maybe 10-11kts. Just not worth it the trek back to the car..... Quote
wenglish Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 ive only flown at ogmore a few times, not sure why just never seem to go there even though its relativly close. whats the estuary like to cross? i did it once at high tide cos i didnt want to walk to the stepping stones and got soaked trying to body drag. Quote
paulie_amoose Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I've only riden there 3 times and this is the first time I've been back for a over a year. At low tide it's a piece of pee to cross the river, it's like knee deep max but fast flowing in places. High is a different matter, you have walk a fair way down the river and then it's like neck deep, holding your kit above your head!!!!!!!! Makes it interesting though!!! Beach has got a rocky bottom in loads of places whcich is pain if you wipe out in shallow water. I guess there is loads of better spots close which work in same direction close by so why use it. To it's favour the effort in crossing the river tends to keep the grockle numbers down although there was some savage good bikini action going down today!!! Quote
wenglish Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 some nice bikinis on display at abber as well, the sun always brings them out. i think ill give ogmore another try in the next few weeks, never know your luck. i dont surf myself but might see you about sometime. Quote
paulie_amoose Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 some nice bikinis on display at abber as well. Ah... The bikini steel works combo... Classic abber.. Yup, come over and say hello sometime dude, I'm either on a Green Rhino. Orange Vegas or a lovely 70's chocolate brown Slingy Fuel... Quote
wenglish Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 oh yer that strange yellow foam goes realy nice with the bikini look as well, seems to gather around the ancles lol. yer ill keep an eye out for you, i only have a 5m radsail so im easy to spot unless i can convince my friend to join me and borrow his frenzy. will be looking for something inflatable very soon though, any advice i got about 250 to spend but not much more. paulie_amoose Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 Mid aspect 12m C kite for that kinda money. You should be able to find one complete for £300. Look for 04 or later if possible. Get you going 13-20kts dependent on weight. Something like this dude.. http://www.s2as.com/catalog/naish-boxer-2004-complete-p-1709.html Get out on the water and you will never use that radsail again!!!!!!! If you see me just say hi and I'll show you my kit... Quote
