summy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Hi I have won a flexfoil comp, it was for a 3.5 mtr bullet. I was called this morning and told they are low on stock with the 3.5 mtr one so i could choose any of the bullets. 2.5, 3.5 (if i really wanted it), 4.5, 5.5 and 7.0. I currently own a 4.9 mtr blade 3 and a 2.5 mtr beamer. which one should i go for. i live in blackpool where the winds can be strong most of the time. I may just decide to sell it ( which one could i sell for the most, easiest to sell) Please help. Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 I'd get the 7m. It's worth the most money and is a cracking low wind kite. (you lucky get ! ) Quote
fox 2 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 get the 7 if u decide to sell as it will be worth the most, otherwise u have a nice low wind kite Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 Which one is closest to my blade 3 4.9, what is the difference between a blade and a bullet. is the 7.0 mtr a real handfull. cos we don't get many low winds in blackpool, it's tough flying my blade a lot of the time Quote
tszy Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Get the 7.0m, sell it and buy a 2.5 - I've been to Blackpool, it certainly can blow a bit there. Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 yeah but i won a 2.5 beamer Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Ho ho ho ! Tough luck there bro. Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 come guys, somebody must be able to give some advice on bullets compared to blades. Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 what is the difference between a bullet and a blade then Quote
RB Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Bullet has lots of pull no lift, blade has loads of lift and pull, go for the 7m and you have a great quiver for all winds! the others are too close to your 4.9 Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 cheers red baron, you don't think the 7.0 will be too much, the 4.9 scares the living daylights out of me somtimes. don't want somthing too strong. people have suggested sell the bullet 7.0 and get a smaller one but 7.0 mtr is 350 new could sell it for 200+ wouldn't be getting a brand new 3.5 bullet for that would i Quote

Sounds like the 3.5 is what you want then. (4.5 and 5.5 too close to your 4.9) Do you have any plans to start boarding or buggying ? (and sorry if you really won the 2.5 Beamer too. I thought you were joking ) Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 Maybe buggying in the future but still learning the basics. Quote
xdavemarshallx Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Maybe buggying in the future but still learning the basics. The Bullet would be better suited to learning to buggy as it won't lift you out they way a blade will, so even if it does overlap a bit....it's not the end of the world. Happy winds! Quote
RB Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 2.5 and 3.5 are too close together! get the 7m and sell it for £290 as never used! it will go, then with that cash you could get a buggy! Quote
Spyke Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 people have suggested sell the bullet 7.0 and get a smaller one but 7.0 mtr is 350 new could sell it for 200+ wouldn't be getting a brand new 3.5 bullet for that would i http://www.extremekiteshop.com/kites/flexifoil-flexifoil-bullet-c-1_17_29.html this is where i got my 3.5 bullet, £195 Quote
summy Posted January 10, 2006 Author Report Posted January 10, 2006 nice one red baron and old git, some good advice - will go for the 7.0, now all i have todo is pick what colour i want. Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 nice one red baron and old git, some good advice - will go for the 7.0, now all i have todo is pick what colour i want. The purple one is the best but obviously you're not going to listen to my advice. Quote
fox 2 Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 lucky git thats 2 out of 3 kites u've won! lol by the way 2.5 beamer is not too close to a 3.5 bullet! the beamer is under powered compared to a bullet Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 .... plus it's a popular misconception that your kites should be evenly spaced sizewise. The smaller ones should ideally be closer together as the windier it is the more you need to be spot on with kite size. Quote

The smaller ones should ideally be closer together as the windier it is the more you need to be spot on with kite size. AGREED!! I know of a number of flyers who step down from a BIII 4.9 to a Bullet 5.5 as its more manageable and just generally less evil in higher wind conditions Quote
SandMonster Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 cos we don't get many low winds in blackpool, as time goes by, you and others may curse the day you ever said this ....ultimately you will find you need a large kite (like an 8.5 blade as they are always the last kites in the sky as the wind drops) ... Quote
spooky Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Hi, first up congratulations, git Ok the 3.5 would it in best with what you already have (as mentioned by Bob, gaps can be bigger between kites the bigger they get/the lower the wind etc). BUT if they are offering you ANY Bullet (with out having to pay the difference?), get the most expensive you can. They you can either keep it for low wind days? Sell it and pocket the cash? Sell it and buy the kite you need? After all there are there options Cough Ozone Cough Or you may find your skills inprove and you want to by something completly different, ie de-power? If so teh money wil come in usfull. Best of luck, Jon P.s Where did you win it? Quote
xdavemarshallx Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Cough Ozone Cough PMSL, PIMP ALERT ;):p Quote

I'm not alone after all...! I'd say unless you're gonna get into some buggy or board action the bigger bullets aint no use in Blackpool. We can't buggy at Lytham coz that stupid out of towner put pay to that for us so if i was you i'd get the 7m coz it the most expensive (as already said) sell the damn thing & get something more suitable. There was a couple of guys battling with a 7m bullet at Lytham a few weeks ago & I was having a wail of a time scudding about with my 2.5. The trouble with bullets is they are pure pulling machines & unless thats what you are after then a big bullet aint really much use round here. You can manage to jump with the bigger ones but they do have a habit of dropping you like a free falling safe. Gimme a shout next time you're out flying & i'll see if i can meet up with you as i usually go flying alone. Quote
