mgs Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 The Blade3 was designed to produce more power than previous versions by making it fly faster through the wind window developing dynamic power in the process. The 6.6m and the 8.5m are my favourites in the range but found the 4.9m just to racy for my needs and sold it in favour of the "Classic" Blade2 4.9m.The Blade2 range are all very good, the 9m was slow to turn but the crossover kit or a bigger bar does help. The Blade3 10.5 I found offered no additional power in low winds to the 8.5m which covers a similar wind range and overall out performing the 10.5m in all respects. Further Development the 10.5m would be good in order to produce significantly more power. The 8.5m is without doubt is my favourite, very fast for a big foil and suburb in light winds, "aerodynamically supreme" The bridle stretch on the Blade3 needs to be mentioned, shame that I had to experience this and hope that this wont happen on future foils should flexi decide to develop the Blade further. The Blade3 is a high aspect ratio - high performance foil and needs a bridle to match. Tip for the designers "Different bridle lines for different loads" was'nt meant to be patronising but something that you need to be ware of. Great kites............ Oh yes,the Blade2 6.4m also needs a mention, what a great foil that is.. Quote
nightwing Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Hmm, i heard that Mr. Wesley Snipes is helping the design team with the blade 4. Is this true ? Quote
noserider Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Just thinking about this more. Do you think that if their is a prototype out there that pics are going to appear here. Anyone given one to test is going to keep it firmly under wraps. Come on guys the only time we will ever see this is when it comes out! Quote

Yeah, cos large traction kites in the sky are easy to hide Who here isn't nosey enough to go ask somebody what the kite they are flying is if they don't recognise it? -- Paul Quote
noserider Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 being nosey is one thing, taking a photo is another. what if the kiter asks you not to take any photos? Quote
The Flyin Scotsman Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Take em without being spotted and dont talk to em . Did it a few years ago to get the first exclusive Flexi Bullet photos and video 8-) Kev Quote
nightwing Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 No, no. You've got confused, George Clooney is helping to design the New Flexifoil 'Perfect Storm'........... aah ok now i get it. hankster Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 i've been reading all this thread,do any of you lot know the preferred blade is actually the mark II series especially the 4.9m. Quote
tttonyyy1599968643 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Blade II up to about the 6.4 due to the extra lift. Blade III for 6.6+ due to the extra speed. Blade IV for both. Quote
Jules B. Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 i've been reading all this thread,do any of you lot know the preferred blade is actually the mark II series especially the 4.9m. i would say people are pretty divided about whether the4.9 is better in mk2 or mk3 guise!! blade 2 is a bit more savage and plucky while the mk3 is a bit more refined and floaty. it all depends what you used to... Quote
hankster Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 fair comment i just preferred the mkII 4.9m blade to the mkIII.and i know quite a few peeps do also. Quote
vaio_pc Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Hi I agree the blade2 i find is a better kite it is more stable etc which i found them to my mates blade3 & i will never change them for a blade3 no way.plus the blade2 2m classic is the best small kite ever to be made. p.s have fun blade3 are good kites though Quote
zakelwe Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I've flown a Blade II and Blade III 3m back to back and the II, to me, was more stable and floaty and the III was more aggressive and grabby. So in summary, the Blade II is for southern shandy drinking ladies with limp wrists , the Blade III for northern Old Pec drinking real men with hairy arses. Glad we got that sorted Regards Andy ( from oop north ). Quote
Jangla Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 I saw a flexi proto today no idea what it was though Quote
skreamz Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 ***Blade II is for southern shandy drinking ladies with limp wrists , the Blade III for northern Old Pec drinking real men with hairy arses*** you northern downfers know nowt...(downfer t'weekend) lasses down south practice hand-shandies from an early age and their wrists are thick and hairy (like their palms) my old lady'll teach you Old Puc'rs how to bum-scud the length of the local beach with her Blade II 4.9 ( save you waxing those hairy arses ) all in the best possible (southern) taste Quote
Mark Everitt Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Maybe people shoud but at letter/list together for Flexi to tell them what you all want in a kite???? That way when they decide to devolope the new blade 4 they will know where to go with it. Mark Quote
