fitz Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 hey, has any 1 on here had a problem with there flight lite boards falling to bits. Recently i cracked one of my hubs and the trucks base plates split in half!! The good news is that ground industries are posting me loads of new bits to get me up and running again:D and i bought the board 10 months ago, hows that for customer sevice:D just wana say that gi stick by there word, they say life time gurentee and up to now looks like they mean it! If any one out there is considering getting a flight lite, dont wory about after sales service because ground industries have it coverd:D Quote
littledevil Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 just to let you know hubs break on all boards its related to the hubs not the board which breaks them. Ben Quote
adamski Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 If any one out there is considering getting a flight lite, dont wory about after sales service because ground industries have it coverd:D Yeah... wind designs import Peter Lynn too...... I can vouch for the warranty..... even when it hasn't been a WD problem (user foolishness) I have hed nothing but great service from them. The ONLY hold up I had was out of WD's hands.... even then they sorted my problem and took it on the chin! Quote
jack blood Posted November 15, 2005 Report Posted November 15, 2005 one of my friends had the same problems with the trucks on his, but the guys a GI were very good at replacing pieces i think Quote
christian wiggi Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 guys at wind designs give truly great service, as do the guys at ground industries, but i have to say the flight lite is just not up to the job. I had one for about 5 months, everything on it broke, bar the deck. Had to go back to get fixed three times. Eventually i said enough was enough and got a full refund. Issues not with the service, just the deck. Quote
Tyler Durden Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I have had a few things go wrong with the Bionics on the Flight Lite, but nothing with the board or wheels. I bent the hangers and smashed the "gold coloured" cubiod parts that run inside the T3 cubes when I kicked of the board at about 15 feet. GI replaced the truck hangers and the whole set up that runs through the T3 cubes, my trucks are back to normal again. Great service. Quote
christian wiggi Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 bending the truck hangers 3 times in a couple of months in my book is pretty naff though. Quote
Tyler Durden Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I think the hangers could do with some sort of cross bracing on them. Rather than just being a "U" shape they could be braced across somehow. Quote
fitz Posted November 16, 2005 Author Report Posted November 16, 2005 Glad all is being sorted Fitz. Nice one dave, thanks for yor help:D Quote
fitz Posted November 16, 2005 Author Report Posted November 16, 2005 I think the hangers could do with some sort of cross bracing on them. Rather than just being a "U" shape they could be braced across somehow. i THINK THEY ARE JUST TO COMPLICATED A PART, THOSE BRASS INSERTS ARE ALWAYS BREAKING AND WHEN THEY DO YOU CANT GET THE KING PINS OUT, oops caps lock error:o and those brake disk jibbly bits on the inside of the hangers are breaking off! when i get my new bits im selling the trucks complete and chucking a set of revos on, then im choping it doun a bit and sticking on a set of f2's/f3's, that should sort it out:confused: Quote
Tyler Durden Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I think the fact that the idea is that board "floats" within the cube mean that the ride could get a little harder if you use other trucks. As the cubes acts as a kind of suspension. I've cut mine doen by about 50mm each end. This made the board quite a bit stiffer as you would expect, so I have thinned out the middle to try and counter this. I have also put some F3's on it, I did this by keeping the Raptor brackets and adjusting (redrilling) the F3's to fit those. This way I didn't have to drill any new holes. Quote
Psycho2 Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 So far ive broken 9 Yes 9 crossairs thats over £200 of wheels alone ............. Quote
christian wiggi Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 As I said, got my money back. Bought a second hand set of revos, a pair of F3s, a second hand set primo light weights and got a custom built cambello carbon fibre deck, all for less cash than the original flight lite. Result. Landed my first board offs last week with the baby too. Man.. That is some feeling! Kind of want to tell everyone about it.!! Quote
fitz Posted November 16, 2005 Author Report Posted November 16, 2005 nice 1 on the board offs;) cant seem to grab the handle, anyway just got front/backloops. foot outs next:D . sounds like you got a good set up there, cambello decks are hard to come by. was thinking of putting revos on my flight lite:confused: dya know anyone who has done this:confused: I know what its like when you nail a trick, top feeling. thats what its all about, well for me anyway. christian wiggi Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Don't know anyonyone who has put revos on the flight lite. Cant imagine it would be too difficult though?? Back loops! good work, had a bash doing them a couple of months back, led to 6 weeks off work and plenty of knackered bones. Still, practice makes.. Quote
