madmarkymark Posted November 9, 2005 Report Posted November 9, 2005 The Litewave 169 is one of the best beginners boards out there. It is floaty so will be a good low wind board whatever standard you are and is almost indestructable so will survive being trashed into the beach whilst you are learning. Madmarkymark Quote
KermitStu Posted November 10, 2005 Author Report Posted November 10, 2005 any more anyone please Quote
scuddasteve Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 best float 135 Will serve you fantastic to learn on and then as a light wind board when you progress like me. 135 x 44 Indestructable like the Litewave too Quote

Madmarkymark Yup, wise words:D Gotta early one, durasurf construction is totally bomb proof. Board is soo damm gud i'm going all misty eyed. Yup it's a bit heavy (but so am I:o ) Never had a bad session on it. Sooo pleased I've now just got the next progression stage; Caution Redline 142 - same build but with a concave bottom:eek: Totally Lush. 'Twill be fine cruising ahead. Bring it on:D Quote

Neddy knacker Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Cycolne flx 05 something along the lines of 135 there quite wide boards with lots of concave! But the main thing i like abouts these boards is the smooth ride you get even in the choppy british waters. Its what i ride and im about ten stone you shouldnt have a problem. Quote
Airpowerd Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 cyclone boards IIRC are made in south africa which has similar conditions ,waves, chop etc.etc.. i've ridden cyclone for the last three years and still haven't found one as comfortable to ride. one comment i hear regularly with the combination of my cyclone 140 and 9m fuel i can (on a good day) be out with 13/14m kites up untill every one is on 8/9/10m kites. people ask what size is out on the water only to hear "oh its steve on his bloody 9m AGAIN go get the wind meter":) i can't say enough about how good these boards are. the only down side is trying to choose which one to ride the 122 or the 140. PS i'm 10.5st Quote
Shorey Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 Lightwave 169... superb board! I was going to flog mine but have kept it for light wind days. After my North Vegas, it's the best kite surf related purchase I have made. Quote

Ozone Razor Posted November 10, 2005 Report Posted November 10, 2005 I dunno, maybe the 142 Caution Redline like someone else mensioned. Looking at your weight a board bigger than 145 would be useless to be quite honest. 158/168 are good boards for heavy weight beginners but as your only 60kg a 135 to 145 would be the best bet. Im about 68/70 kg and started on a 146, which was perfect for me anything bigger would have been a waste imho, I now ride a 122 which is a perfect combo with my kites hope that helped a bit more Rich Quote
Mr X Posted November 14, 2005 Report Posted November 14, 2005 For a beginner? The flydoor. Big but it makes life oh so easy. Quote
