Personally I think Sven has done it on purpose as he doesn't want the job anymore. By being forced out he gets a very nice golden handshake! So put one of footballs least played strikers up front, support him with an ego maniac and skrek plus two others who can't play as a team. Play a formation that they are not familiar with and leave that lazy bugger Ferdinand to wander around at the back.... bang lose the game...golden handshake, retire back home and shag scandinavian lovelies for all his worth, sounds like a plan to me!!! anything Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 before i start my rant i would like to congratulate Northern Ireland for their gutsy performance and deserved win but now must be the time for Sven to get the sack no matter how much the FA will have to pay him off, the past three games have shown his as a one dimensional manager with no ideas of his own England currently has some of the best playes in the world, Gerrard was voted most valuable player recently, Lampard is one of the best atting midfielders who will score goals if given the chance, Rooney can produce something from nothing if you play him in the right position, we have an abundance of quality center backs, one of the best left backs, strikers taht will score goals, and some really good young wingers in SWP and Downing However playing the 4-5-1 formation you can only accomadate a few of these payers, and that is why England aren't preforming in tonights game we got to see that Beckham can pass the ball, but we already knew that, and with him playing the holding role spraying ball to the wingers he completely by-passed Gerrard and Lampard, therefore not allowing the two best players on the pitch to do what they do for their clubs, that is running at the defenders and opening space up for the likes of Owen another reason for not playing the 4-5-1 is the fact that England don't have a natural left winger (apart from Downing, but he is out for 3 months) and playing the likes of Rooney wide left only helps the opposition as he is far more influential playing just off the striker where he can create havoc for the defence the reason the 4-5-1 formation works so well for Chelsea and Man U is because thay have the players and they have months to perfect how to play like that Owen, he is a quality striker, but his style of play does not suit playing as a lone striker as he is too small, the reason he has score a goal every two games for England is becasue he has someone else to divert the defenders attention from him eg Heskey or Rooney up front, as these players will draw the defenders further up the pitch allowing Owen to use his pace to get in behing the defence Sven needs to grow a backbone and realise when things are going wrong, he needs to take off the "big name" players if they aren' preforming, as long as he is England manager the like of Beckham, Owen and Rooney will always play, and i'm not saying thats a bad thing, just so long as they are played in the right position loosong internationals hurts the supporters, no matter if they are friendlies or qualifiers against supposedly lesser opposition, Iain Wright was almost in tears when doing the post match analysis but Sven doesn't understand how important winning these games is to the English fans in the words of Mike Basset England will be playing a four four fcuking two thats what Sven should have done wow, that was a long rant, i'll try and keep it shorter next time:D Quote

Brother Dave Posted September 8, 2005 Report Posted September 8, 2005 Had to laugh cos Scotland played far better last night which was good to finally see. Walter smith seems to be the man for them . As for Sven well i dont know what to say really other than get a fukin grip mate or we will not be going to any world cup. and for me Owen is #hit he needs to go always relying on him to do his magical stuff ani't going to happend anymore. Oh and well done for beating a team which on paper by the way is one of the best nationl sides in the world , but unfortunatly not on the pitch. BD. Quote

If he had managed the England team with the enthusiasm he has with his indiscretions with the ladies, we would have seen a different score. Well done Northern Ireland.
