angus3287 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Hi needing an honest opinion. Im lookin at buying a north dragon 2004. I am an intermediate rider, staying up wind all the time, jibing smoothly and starting to pull off small jumps. I currently have a bic airflow 162 (for sale) and am looking to down size and go a bit more modern. Is the dragon going to be a good bet? i know its a fairly high performance board but i guess ill grow in to it. It is an irresistable deal, just wanting a second opinion, thanks in advance, gus Quote
AliB Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 north dragons are quite a good boardl.if its the board that ibby rides then it is bomb proof Quote
skyte Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Bomb proof but a bit on the heavy side with 8fins though if it's the one I'm thinking of. I've only heard good things about them though. I found one in Spain 2 years ago and the missus had a quick go before friends of the injured owner came walking down the beach to retrive it. She liked it. Quote
scillonian Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 I've got the 2004 north dragon L which is the grey/silver/orange board 4* 6cm fins. This is 138*40.5 in size and i use this as my light wind board to complement a 122 flx. The dragon is a great board to ride but is heavier than the 122. It cuts upwind lovely and with the 6cm fins really carves through the turns. It has plenty of footpad adjustments for duck stance and heel/toe bias depending on preference. I have the "updated" footpads which are footplates and straps all inc' so adjustment is easy. Its quite a fast board and jumps fine but i do get overpowered on it which is when i'll change to the 122. its basically a blown up 2004 jamie pro in outline and rail shape. This years dragons i believe are all the same length 134cm but vary in width they are red/grey. Quote
darkwing Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 2003 dragon had 8 fins, but not a bad board 2004 dragon is a really great board, tried one a few times while i was learning, and progressed really quickly. I now have a 2005 Dragon, and absolutely love it, Quote
