littlemisssammy Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 Ok now I have your attention!!! Thinking of taking a holiday to learn kiteboarding in the summer. So far, I buggy, have tried kite landboarding once or twice but find it hard to balance! So how many lessons should I get? Would it be best to do a 2 day intensive course and then hire equipment for the rest of the week? Or do a few hours each day for 5 days? Also do you think its best to learn in england then getting the most out of being on holiday... or learn on holiday? Thanks! Quote
dirty_knees Posted April 24, 2005 Report Posted April 24, 2005 take a crash course here then top it up in the sun;) Quote
The_Mad_Hatter Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 once your good kiteboarding in the cold isn't so bad as your not sitting around in the water loads, learn on holiday in the hot water. Quote
littlemisssammy Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 yeah thats the only thing im worried about, the cold!!! Is it much cheaper if you do it abroad? I have found a few courses over here, all about £240-£260. Quote

Flash000 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Oh er missus!!! Make it september and it will be a nice birthday treat! On a serious note, look into Morocco in a place called Essaouira (windy city). Its a great place to chill out and there are a couple of kite schools on a fabulous beach. Try a search on the web. I did pick up a couple of leaflets when i was out there but dont know where they are at the moment. Cheap holiday, more money for the lessons! What could be better. Quote
littlemisssammy Posted April 25, 2005 Author Report Posted April 25, 2005 Ooh that sounds nice, I have always wanted to go to Morocco! Thanks for the Advice! Quote
Tone Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 go to a cable tow centre before hand, and get used to riding a board. Quote
Flash000 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 This is one of the schools (link below). I think the other one was better. Gives you an idea though. You can arrange it all out there as well unless it got real busy since i was there last. I christned my blade there and flew it all week long. You would love Morocco, ive been 3 times now. Essaouira Guess what just fell out of my morocco guide book! A leaflet for Ocean Vagabond the other school. It only has an email address though. oceanvagabond@directwind.com Have fun what ever you decide. Quote
