g0nz01599968659 Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 What is the current speed record for kite landboards? How fast can you go?? Quote
Ponte_ste Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 i think i got over 20mph, racing a buggy with speedo, a good guess. but more of an air freak myself, i know some have gone over 30mph, must be scary doing that, a little bit of speed wobble may come in too! Quote
Chris Bainbridge Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 I've done 33mph with my old Furnace Creek 2 and my 3m Radsail, and I know neil aka kc has done 36.5mph. I'm sure someone has done over 40mph. Quote
toby888 Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 ive done about 35 ish on the sand down at littlehampton once got up to speed had to slow down though Quote
zeebeedeesam Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 i herd in a mag that someone did 47 but i have no proof:confused: Quote
c_bloore Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 No idea. A dirtsurfer and a race kite would probably the best way of smashing what ever record there is thery have done over 100kph down hill so wobbling would be a problem. oh yeah and body armour would be a good idea too Quote
Trick Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Naa, you want one of these: http://www.kitedeck.com/kd2.htm Quote
egg Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 no man i gotta agree with the dirtsurfer idea, 30mph downhill feels like your not even moving! not sure how fast i've been on my mountainboard but it was too scary!! Quote
king_of_the_sky Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 my mate did 28 clocked using my gps at out local field on a phantom Quote
mkratty Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 ive heard of lots of people hitting the 35+ mark but as far as i know the 40 has not been hit .im quite supprised its not been done yet ,as we have had some good wind to do speed runs this winter.. Quote
king_of_the_sky Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 tis a shame pendine hasnt been avalible for most ppl as thats perfect for board speed runs Quote
stueyboy Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 Well i've done 25mph on a couple of occasions and that feels plenty fast. I think at my age, you should be able to claim a 5mph advantage One time was with a 2m Samurai as well Quote
