Hi,

I just bought a 4.9 blade with the idea of jumping, scudding and once I get the hang of it... buggying (maybe even boarding!)

The kite is on 30 M lines and I found it a bit unresponsive... I know this is probably cause Im not used to the kite yet (have been flying a 3.5 bullet till now).

So I just want to know, what are the best lines for learning on 25m or other?

Also, what strength lines should they be on?

Ta very much!

My 4.9 Blade II also came with 30m lines. It feels weird using my blade 6.6 - with 25m standard lines and then the 4.9 with the 30's. The longer lines just means longer time in the power zone but will reduce the response speed. I have now bought 25m lines for the 4.9, partly because the old power lines broke (!) but also because i want to match it with the 6.6. I would say dont go for lines any smaller than 500lb as this beast is capable of delivering serious power.......

As a guide - 3 x your bodyweight, but also note the thicker the lines the more weight and drag is added to the kite.

As a guide I weigh about 75kg and have 4 - 250kg lines on my 13m Guerilla as supplied R2F.

I've never found kites less responsive when on longer lines...the kite turns just as fast, but it takes longer to move across the window. 30 metres is hardly long too...I'd say it was about right.

Is it a Blade 1, 2 or 3? If it's a 1 or 2 it will turn a fair bit slower than the 3.5 Bullet...probably three times slower. If it's a Blade 3 it should only be about twice as slow to turn.

Ive been thinking about it, and I think that it will be fine on the 30m lines if we set the brakes slightly looser, as even a slight tweak at the moment will cause the whole kite to deflate, and then its just falls out of the sky!! (usualy right into the middle of the window rady to rip your arms off when re-inflates!!)

I think the kite will be easier to fly if the brakes were slightly longer

Spot on! :D

Blades are designed so they can be flown with no brakes - best idea is to get them as loose as possible but still allowing them to be used to put the kite down / for fast turning.
