zeebeedeesam Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 Hey should i get a bullet 3.5 now???? or wait and get a blade 4m in summer????? At the mo i have got a 2.5 bullet with a board i have asked LOADS of people but i still dont no wot to do need to make a final disicion:confused: Quote
mickjones Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 wait until summer and get a 4.5m bullet! if you have the 2.5m, the 3.5m wont give you much better performance in light summer winds the new 4.5m bullet is a lot better than the old one, and will be better than the blade4m which has lift, but you wont want lift on a kite that small - you will go up quick and come down hard. painfull Quote
Henry Primett Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 why a 3.5 now or a 4m later. u could always get a second hand blade 4m surely a similar price? Quote
SkintMonkey Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 the new 4.5m bullet is a lot better than the old one, and will be better than the blade4m which has lift, but you wont want lift on a kite that small - you will go up quick and come down hard. painfull disagree there...im light at 9 stone and my 4m blade was quite willing to let me down softly...however if your of the larger disposition it gonna hurt;) Quote
mickjones Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 c'mon skint monkey - you gotta agree that you'd rather be jumping with a 6.6m in lighter wind! theres not a lot of canopy on a 4m blade spose i have got four stone on you mind! Quote
SkintMonkey Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 yeah id agree...but he isnt able to get a 6.6 and a 4.5 aint exactly gonna take him up up and away:) ...but if he could get a 4.9 hed be flying:cool: personnally id rather be under a 12 and 18m phantom Quote
mickjones Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 yes skintmonkey - spot on with the phantom, i love them too Quote

Ally Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 my 3m blade will let me down nicely. oh light winds? it won't even get me up nicely. get the blade:D Quote
Cahliss Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 If I go for a 12.5 Warrior then me BladeI 4.9 will be out for sale next week to pay for it. On bar but handles available too. Quote
spooky Posted March 6, 2005 Report Posted March 6, 2005 Hi, As I take it you are a boarder (or will be) then I take it you will want something with lift? Yes what others have said about jumping on small kites is not great as in the right winds to go up high you WILL come down fast and hard as well. BUT I take it you are quite light (ie sub 10 stone) in which case a 4m kite will do you fine. Will go well with your 2.5 Bullet, which is deffinitly a size that you do not want lift on!! I'd say skip the 3.5 Bullet as in a buggy it will give alot more power (due to apparent wind speeds when moving) but on a board it will be to close to what you have already. Options, bearing in mind that you want to keep cheap, worth looking at a few used items on here? I know of the following. 4m Blade Mk2, £160 4m Blade Mk3, £220 Mac Bego 400 £220 All of the above can punish you if you mess up (but then again so can most kites) but bear in mind that small kites are used in stronger winds so everything happens faster (though at your current level odds on your still out in light winds?). Worth looking ata Ozone Sammurai, ok not quite as much lift asa Blade/Bego but smoother to fly, and would be my choice as a nice allround kite for stronger winds? May be worth you selling your 2.5 and getting a 4m (just bear in mind what winds you can use it in) as while the 2.5 is good for high winds as you get better the winds that you would be using it in would mean it is quite a fast/twitchy kite for boarding with (much better in a buggy). So as long as you are disaplined as to what winds you go out in then a 4m will be fine and odds on will give you more fun. Also a Blade/Sammy or Bego are much better for static flying (if winds to strong to board with) as they have the lift and slightly softer landing than a Bullet would do for static flying/jumping. Hope that helps, Jon P.s what board are you currently riding? And don't for get to keep some cash back for Helmet (at least) and some knee pads Quote

Goose1599968659 Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 y not wait, come down to lords hill in southampton on the 16th/17th of April (Date TBC) and fly some of the new pegas kites, see if you like them. I always think its best to try lots of kites before commiting, its like getting married, a kite is for you to fly all the time, make sure you adore it! lol have you tried the sabre/ frenzy 03-04-05/ flysurfers/ blade on de-power (pegas wingwarp kit - a godsend!)? etc Quote
zeebeedeesam Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 nope none of them but i want to go onto a blade to get used to bigger kites:confused: Quote
zeebeedeesam Posted March 7, 2005 Author Report Posted March 7, 2005 the verdict so far is blade:D Quote
yowi Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 The trick to reasonable landings on 3m blades is to keep redirecting the kite over your head. You've got to keep the kite speed up to keep it generating lift. 3 or 4 redirects is not surprising. Quote
